A last minute hotel change meant that we found ourselves at Las Adelfas and it’s perfect. Less than a 10 minute taxi from the airport, this hotel has everything you need for a relaxed holiday. The apartments were lovely and clean and fully equipped for a self-catered stay. The pool was lovely with ample sunbeds, for those with children there is a shallow pool and a lifeguard. The poolside bar had nice food and drinks, all extremely affordable, open 10am to 5pm. Tip: Less than €10 spend requires cash payment only - bring change! Staff on reception were friendly and accommodating, they were easily able to facilitate a late check-out time. Las Adelfas is a stones throw away from a nearby beach or a short taxi ride to Playa Grande (less than €10). The start of all of the restaurants is around a 10 mins walk and goes on for about a mile. Overall a brilliant stay and we would return. Thank you!

Stayed at Adelfas as part of a 1 week deal with Jet2 with private transfer. Close to the beach and loads of restaurants, supermarkets and about a 40 walk to the port. Firstly, DONT book private transfer as it’s only 4 miles away and a cab will only cost you around €15 each way and not the £89 I paid return ! Arrival and check in was pretty smooth although I think a little welcome pack with info like spare toilet paper and towels (behind you reception ), where the local supermarket is (a few within 5-10 mins walk), drs (5 mins away), WiFi , safe, opening times of office, bar opening times etc instead of one having to run around scratching their head. Some of the info was given when asked, just think it would have been an added touch. If you want to hire the safe it’s €10 per week non-refundable. WiFi works well and the TV has a few British channels, although the tv lost signal several times and the tv went blank. The office is open 8-5, seven days a week. There’s also a bus stop 3 mins away which takes you to loads of different areas and costs around €2 each if you fancy seeing more of the island. Our room - initially placed in room 128 (see complete room plan of Adelfas). We had initially contacted them requesting a pool view, room, what we were given was laughable to be honest. The communication between them and us was a a little sparse as they didn’t respond to my messages although they read them on WhatsApp On arrival, we were put in room 128, east facing room, tucked away in the corner, the view to the pool was hardly visible., However, the room backed onto a busy side street with cars and buses constantly going up and down that road. The room hardly had any sunshine in the front and also backed onto a slip path and stairs where residents walk (and talk) right by your property to access the building. 128 was larger than the one we were moved to with 2 bathrooms, but the bigger room wasn’t worth the noise! We asked if we could be moved to the opposite side and were told that we did not request a ‘sunny room’ from Jet2, we were not given this option nor were we given this option when we were texting or emailing the Adelfas to upgrade which I would have done as it was my partners 60th birthday. I was quite upset especially as the one week holiday cost £2k so to get a room that we got was disappointing to say the least. As our apartment was east facing, we unfortunately only managed to get some sunshine in the morning, to make matters worse (not their fault), the weather wasn’t great for the majority of the week that we were there. Anyway, we were moved to Room 125, a few doors down with a better view of the pool. The room itself had a large sofa (not comfy) which opened up to a sofa bed, a TV on the wall and the apartment itself had everything that you would need for a Self catering apartment. It was well equipped. Hairdryer, even an ironing board and iron in the room. Unfortunately no air-conditioning (I know they do advertise this but I would imagine it would be murder in the hotter months even with the fan that they have in the room. We did have some issues with the shower, the rainfall part of the shower wasn’t working and it took three days for them to get a maintenance person to come and look at it despite me sending several texts (unanswered) and a face-to-face enquiry. Was told that they would have to break the tiles in the wall to get it fixed. They do have a handheld shower that goes with it which works. We were offered another room (116) which was closer to the bar with a shower that worked so the excuse of water pressure didn’t fly with me, but we declined as we had already moved once. The cleaner did try to show us it worked, but it only clicked into place for about 20 seconds then failed again. The maintenance man said it was broken. On the subject of cleaners, for the one week that we were there, they only came once, again so I would imagine in the hotter months some might have a problem with this, especially as there’s no air-conditioning, but there are spare sheets that you can have access to in Reception if you want to change the bed yourself and some spare sheets and blankets in the room. I also got cold at night and they provided a little electric radiator. The rooms are also very thin, you can hear people scraping their chairs across the floors, especially being on the ground floor as you get it from above and on the side, it’s awful. The pool area - loads of beds squished together, some with umbrellas. Plenty available when we were there. A few kids around but the ones which were (obviously happy) were also screaming and jumping in the pool with their blow up toys so if you’re looking for peace around the pool, this isn’t for you, and this wasn’t even the busy period when it’s half-term. There’s a pool bar there too serving drinks and food. We didn’t eat, but had coffee. I texted the Adelfas about my partners 60th and they promised some wine and a card in the room. When we arrived back at 4.55pm, there wasn’t anything there, so I quickly ran up and luckily the office was still open. They forgot… anyway they did actually make up a little fairy cake and croissant hamper and gave him 2 bottles of wine and brought it to the door and wished him a happy birthday which I’m pleased about but they would have missed it had we been back 10 mins later. In summary…. For me, the fact that there’s no air con (actually didn’t see this when booking but luckily didn’t need it and the little radiator sufficed), and that with the possibility that there will be so many kids there and the inability to relax, more importantly I think had I researched properly (this was a last min deal) I would have got a lot better for £2000 somewhere else.

“Standards have declined since our last visit - such a shame”

This was our third stay at Las Adelfas and think it may be our last. The cleanliness in the apartment and around the pool area is not the best, the shower grout was black, shower screen dirty, chewing gum stuck on the wall in the bedroom and the fridge was in need of repairing and constantly leaked… more

This was our third stay at Las Adelfas and think it may be our last. The cleanliness in the apartment and around the pool area is not the best, the shower grout was black, shower screen dirty, chewing gum stuck on the wall in the bedroom and the fridge was in need of repairing and constantly leaked onto the tiled floor which was chipped and very slippy. Such a shame as previous visits have been lovely hence the reason for our return. The pool area was dirty, bins overflowing and not emptied at the end of the day so when the wind picked up there was rubbish all over. Staff are all lovely and very friendly which is a positive.
