Myself and my wife Susan have recently returned home after a six night stay at the hotel. We were anxious to see and if the renovation had affected the charm of the hotel but we were both glad to see it was as nice as we remembered. Having stayed here before we requested a specific room which we were delighted to be allocated. We were staying on a half board basis and found the choice of food at both breakfast and dinner varied and excellent , we also enjoyed sitting in the open when eating. We initially booked a superior room but due to wanting a room on level four were advised to change to a superior premium room which we did and gave us great views over the pool area and grounds. I would however ask are superior rooms available on level four or is it superior premium rooms only. The room itself was nice and was cleaned on a regular basis, the only negative feedback we have is the walk in shower has no dish for putting soap in , meaning my wife had to leave it on the floor and bend down to pick it up again. A dish or ledge would have solved this problem , maybe something to think about. Overall we loved our stay at the hotel and are eagerly looking forward to our next visit .

“Still the best!”

Just back after our 14th holiday at this marvellous hotel. We were last there back in September, a week after it reopened, and although some work was still going on we still had a great time. Just back after our 14th holiday at this marvellous hotel. We were last there back in September, a week after it reopened, and although some work was still going on we still had a great time. But it was great seeing the hotel back to its best, in fact even better. The food, maybe not as much choice as before, but the standard, and quality is still excellent. The homemade bread, fresh pizzas, choice of made to order pasta dishes, plus the freshly cooked meats and fish, are delicious, and the smash burgers are to die for. Due to my wife’s mobility issues, we upgraded to a premium superior room for the walk in shower, and the room was beautiful, with a lovely view over the pool. The new decor is fresh and modern, but still keeps the traditional feel. The cleanliness of the hotel and superb friendly staff was at its usual high standard, and to be honest, we couldn’t complain about anything. We’ve been lucky over the years to have done a decent amount of travelling, but this place just keeps calling us back. See you all in the Autumn Garth Turner

we had an amazing holiday here on our first visit to this hotel. check in was quick and luggage taken to our room, which was on the ground floor - beautiful room and very clean. travelling with a 2 year old, we spent a lot of our time around the kids pool. the pools were heated and our daughter loved the slides! the main pool areas were beautiful and plenty of sunbeds to go round. the food at the hotel was superb - i didn’t have a bad meal. you could get things cooked fresh whilst you had a small wait. the burgers were delicious! the pina coladas were delicious, probably the nicest ones i’ve ever had. entertainment at the hotel was the standard hotel stuff - easy to watch and nothing special. right on the beach and great location for nice walks. If I could suggest some areas for improvement that would have made this a 5 star review: - There was no where to get a drink pre 11am except from the breakfast buffet. It was hard explaining this to our toddler who wanted an ice lolly from Pepes shack pre 11am! If the pool bar or the shack opened at 10am for drinks only this would be much better. - Again travelling with a toddler we noticed a lack of places to get snacks throughout the day. Only lollies and waffles served in kids area. Would be good to have more quick options available throughout the day. - slightly confusing AL method - having to give your room card all the time. sometimes we weren’t asked and sometimes we were. bands or room number may be better. - wait times at the bars. we travelled out of school holidays so can imagine this will be so much busier on holidays. only one bar serving cocktails throughout the day isn’t enough. - having to find a highchair on our own in the restaurants - sometimes couldn’t find one. - when we first entered our room the balcony door had been left wide open, with all our luggage inside. as we were bottom floor this concerned me that anyone could have came into the room, not sure why it was left open! - some staff quite stand offlish and not too friendly. most were very pleasant but there were a few who made us feel a bit unwelcome. Overall though this was a fabulous holiday and I would recommended this hotel to friends and family. If slight improvements could be made it would be even better!

Unfortunately, this hotel did not feel like a 4-star property and was closer to a 2-star experience. There was very little entertainment during the day around the pool area, which made the atmosphere feel quite quiet and lacking in activities. It was also extremely difficult to find an available sun lounger in the mornings. Many guests would reserve loungers as early as 7 a.m. and then not return to use them until 10 a.m. or even later in the afternoon, leaving very few available for others. The kids’ pool was nice and well-maintained, but again the overall atmosphere was very quiet and lacked entertainment. In the evenings, there was limited seating around the bar area to watch the entertainment, making it difficult to find a place to sit and enjoy the shows. Rooms very small . Overall, the hotel did not meet the standards I would expect from a 4-star resort.
