Just returned from a beautiful weeks holiday in the Sumas Stella and Spa hotel in Pineda De Mar Such a Lovey clean hotel, spacious modern, tastefully decorated rooms, lots of storage space, hairdryer, large mirrors, TV, mini fridge and safe, a balcony with table and chairs and small drying rail, And brilliant individually controlled aircon. We had 1 room on the 1st floor (124) overlooking a very quiet residential street, the street is not noisy so we had many peaceful nights. The balconies on this side of the hotel also gets the late afternoon/early evening sun so perfect for chilling out while getting ready for dinner. The surprising thing about the room we had, you enter from the main corridor via your bathroom which leads into the bedroom, The bathroom consists of 2 sinks along one wall with a spacious shower and toilet opposite, with a sliding door for privacy, a large pocket door that separates the bathroom from the bedroom and because of this of a night time you can’t hear anyone walking to their rooms along the corridor. Our bedroom had a large comfortable double bed, and a double sofa bed, which was ideal for our family. Such a clever layout! The rooms are cleaned and fresh towels given daily. The hotel itself is in a great very close by Pineda de Mar beach and train station with supermarkets and shops within close walking distance. The beach itself is a pebble/stone beach so if you like the beach bring beach shoes. Now to the hotel staff who were all amazing we had informed them in advance that our son has coeliac so requires a strict gluten free diet. Reception staff Ari and Violetta were lovely and always very welcoming! And both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The restaurant staff were also very efficient and helpful - there is a separate section for the gluten free breads and cereals with a dedicated toaster well away from the other bread section so zero chance of cross contamination, they also showed us a special gluten free menus that our son could order from every day and they had within the main buffet section lots of very clearly labeled gluten free dishes, the food was brilliant and we never got bored of the variety. Special thanks to Ceaser, linda, Jhon, Samara, Mohamed and the rest of the team in the restaurant! The hotel has a lovely quiet lobby with comfortable seating, and a Lovely bar area and outside gorgeous salt water swimming pool surrounded by lush planting and comfortable loungers, not all the loungers have shade in the form of umbrellas or the canopy so if you want a bed with shade you need to get to the pool early, although you are not supposed to reserve beds the pool is open from 09.00- 20.00 which is great for long summer days! towels can be rented from the hotel, you pay a deposit which is given back when you return them. Evening entertainment was available and only outside during the weekend so even if you have a pool view room you shouldn’t be too disturbed by noise. The whole area is very quiet. There is also a lovely spa and indoor pool and a gym on the top floor which has great equipment and views across to the sea. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to go back in October!

This is a fantastic hotel in every respect. The staff were wonderful - friendly, professional and kind. The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas - rooms, communal areas, restaurant, pool area. The facilities are excellent - all of a very high standard - the hotel has a real luxury feel to it. The food in the restaurant was excellent - a really good variety and choice each evening. Breakfast was excellent too. The drinks prices in the restaurant and bar were very reasonable. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, and we look forward to returning next year. We will be bringing the rest of the family next time too.

We've just returned from a 7 night holiday here. Perfect holiday. We booked a superior comfort room, which was the amazing, roomy, great bathroom, 2 balconies, comfy bed. Kettle, small fridge, perfect room really. The staff were all smiley and helpful. Waiting staff in restaurant always friendly, Bar and Brasserie staff always great, Fiona, Jorge, Leila were always friendly and provided excellent service. The food offerings in the Brasserie were really good, the Salads and Poke bowls were amazing and really good value. Breakfast in the main restaurant was always very good, plenty of choice, fresh and well presented. The local area is perfect for great meals out and the beach is just over the road. We made use of the free one hour session to try the water sports on the beach. First go at paddle boarding, great fun even though the sea is a little rough! We made use of the train, visiting Girona and Calella, both definitely worth visiting. There is a great little corner shop by the hotel, perfect for bottled water and other drinks snacks etc. The pool area is great, it did get a little busier as the week went on and the hotel tried quite hard to stop people reserving sunbeds and then disappearing for the day! There is a good mix of nationalities at this resort. Evening entertainment was pretty good. During the day occasionally there was live music by the pool, and amazing violinist and an amazing keyboard player, neither is usually my thing but they were both fabulous and provided amazing music. We had the best time and will definitely be looking to return.

Just finished a lovely 5 nights which as a couple we feel was just about right. Wanted a short last minute break and this popped up. Reviews looked ok so we went for it. We would highly recommend this hotel for couples or older families who want a quiet break. Despite it being advertised as ‘adults recommended’ there’s quite a few babies and toddlers. For teenagers and or kids looking for more activity, there’s no kids clubs or daytime activities. It’s a very chilled and relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. They do some great touches around the pool like complimentary ice lollies and fruit skewers which is very well received. The staff are nothing short of fantastic and so helpful and you get waiter service around the pool. The pool area opens at 9am and there’s a very orderly queue forming about 8.45. But NO made scramble for beds like other places which is ideal. The food quality is excellent and we cannot fault all 3 sittings throughout the day. We went B&B and then you can pay 15 euros each for lunch or 20euros each for dinner pay as you go. The town and beach is only a five minute walk in either direction and not lively. We didn’t see any crazy Hen or stag do’s and the whole resort is very European and family friendly. The stand out points of the hotel are the cleanliness, food, the spa and the 5th floor gym overlooking the sea, plus ALL the friendly staff, nothing is ever too much bother. “One word of warning, and nothing to do with the hotel, Pineda del mar is about 45 minutes from Ginoa, make sure you book a coach transfer with an operator that’s comes straight here. DO NOT Book with MTS Global as they stop at two resorts prior and it will add another hour into your journey. “ As for everything else, you’ll work it out as you go.. good luck Thank you Sumus for being the best Hosts possible X
