One of us was ill and staff were so kind and helpful to us which was appreciated. Internet was very bad, we had to go to the reception area for any service. Our room was spacious and functional.

can’t fault the hotel staff friendly very clean nice rooms food at breakfast was great couldn’t complain pool was cold but i went in september so that was the reason

My partner and I booked a Half Board package holiday in Salou with TUI starting on 30th September 2025. One of the main reasons was that we had flights from Cardiff. Everything ran smoothly and we were soon disembarking at Reus airport. Strangely they didn’t use buses to transport us to the terminal but as it was sunny we didn’t mind the walk. We were soon on the coach and we were in Salou and the first drop off at the corner of the road on which Apartamentos California was located. We went to the reception desk and checked in and as we arrived in the morning we were told our room would be ready in an hour or so. We left our luggage in the secure room got drinks and headed to the pool to relax. After an hour I spoke with the receptionist who said our room was ready so I took the luggage up to our first floor apartment which was clean and well laid out. The kitchen had microwave, oven, fridge clothes airer and ironing board but strangely no iron. The bathroom/shower again was clean and tidy with a hairdryer and shaver point. The breakfast and dinner buffet was good with well cooked food plenty of choice and helpful staff so another plus! One very slight minus is that because of the orientation of the pool in relation to the building you find yourself moving your way down the line of sun beds from 11am until about 3pm at which time the sun has made it’s way back to the first sun bed. Not a lot that can be done about that and only a minor issue, as is the pool which is quite small and shallow. The location is great for the shops as they are very close and it’s only a couple of blocks away from the sea so don’t expect sea views. There is a bus stop on the main road adjacent to the hotel with a regular service to Tarragona and Barcelona although we booked our trip to Barcelona with TUI and enjoyed it immensely, but be prepared to walk (we covered 7 miles according to my Apple Watch). As we decided to make our own way around the city rather than following a guide we were dropped off and picked up near the Maritime Museum which is by the port and only around the corner from Las Ramblas so we walked through there and had a look around La Boqueria food market which was about half way down. Then we meandered our way to the square at the top where we took a right turn and made our way to the fantastic Sagrada Famiglia. We Al We had a great time and we would happily go back for another stay. Excellent staff and great value for money!

We visited as a married couple on the 6th September 25 for 7 nights half board On arrival really impressed with the reception area and general appearance Once in the lift was like a time machine going back 30 years Although the first impression is good you cannot polish a turd Going in to the apartment it is old and tired,although fully equipped and spacious,damp on walls,fridge rotted at the bottom as so the door didn't close, anyway we were to use as a base only for sleeping and showering,breakfast typical Spanish hotel breakfast not to bad,evening meals different story,bland tasteless nondescript and what wasn't eaten was a curry the next day,tried 3 nights to no avail, pretty poor, Only glad the sun shone and we were only there to sleep and get changed A shame to say this but spend a bit more and get better
