The hotel is modern, clean, in a great location close to everything. The staff are hard working, friendly and professional. The food is excellent, hot, well cooked and in a hygienic environment. Lounge, pool area and roof top terrace are great too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of H10 Vintage Hotel Salou We recently stayed at the H10 Vintage Hotel in Salou and had a mixed experience. While there are some excellent aspects of the hotel, there are also areas that fell well short of what we would expect from a 4-star property. ✅ Positives The communal areas of the hotel—reception, bar, dining area, and pool—were all clean, modern, and well-maintained, reflecting the 4-star standard you would expect. These spaces have clearly been recently updated and create a very positive first impression. The bar was reasonably priced, especially for a hotel, and the cocktails were both enjoyable and well-made. A particularly nice touch was the free water fountain, which is perfect if you bring a refillable bottle. The entertainment staff were a highlight. The young male entertainer running daytime activities like aqua aerobics and bingo was especially friendly, engaging, and funny—he really helped create a lively atmosphere around the pool. Practical touches were also appreciated: •Free use of the in-room safe and fridge •Late checkout a12 pmpm •Pool towel system with a €10 refundable deposit (easy to manage once you understand the ticket system) The hotel’s location is convenient, around a 15-minute walk to the beach and close to a good selection of restaurants and bars. Evening entertainment was a bit hit-and-miss, but one standout night featured a talented South African duo performing opera and mixed genres, which was truly excellent. ❌ Negatives Unfortunately, the standard rooms were a major disappointment and did not reflect a 4-star rating at all. Our room was: •Shabby and worn •Dirty in places •Missing tiles •Marked walls and bathroom areas It was genuinely the worst room we’ve experienced in a 4- or 5-star hotel, and it didn’t match the quality of the hotel’s refurbished communal areas. We reported the issue immediately. The initial response from reception was unhelpful, telling us to return multiple times the next day without resolution. Eventually, a more understanding staff member (Andrea, I believe) assisted us, and we were offered a room upgrade on day 3—for an additional €100. While the upgraded “deluxe” room was more spacious, it still fell short of what we would consider deluxe standard. In fact, we feel this level of room should represent the minimum standard for a 4-star hotel. Other room-related drawbacks: •No complimentary water •No tea or coffee facilities 🍽 Restaurant & Facilities The restaurant experience was inconsistent: •Food choices were somewhat limited •Tables were often missing cutlery, glasses, or napkins •Several tables were reserved daily, restricting availability for other guests While the waiting staff were friendly, the same couldn’t always be said for some of the kitchen staff. The pool area had a few issues as well: •The lifeguard frequently disappeared, leaving guests waiting for towels •The main pool opens at 9am, but queues start forming early •The rooftop pool (opens at 10am) is a nice feature, but sunbeds are very limited 💳 Extras The hotel uses a wristband payment system, which doubles as your room key and payment method. You preload it at reception with cash or card. This was actually a very convenient system once set up. 📍 Exploring the Area We also visited Cambrils and Tarragona, both of which are definitely worth a trip. Transport options are easy: •Frequent bus services •Taxis cost around €25 each way 📝 Overall The H10 Vintage Hotel Salou offers excellent public spaces, friendly bar staff, and great daytime entertainment, but the experience is let down significantly by the poor quality of standard rooms and inconsistent service. Rating: 3/5 It has the potential to be a fantastic hotel, but improvements to room quality and restaurant organisation are essential to meet true 4-star expectations.

“No smoking on balcony's”

Smokers and people who vape should be made aware that this is no longer permitted on room balcony, prior to booking, and can result in 100 euro fine if not adhered too. Smokers and people who vape should be made aware that this is no longer permitted on room balcony, prior to booking, and can result in 100 euro fine if not adhered too. Was made aware of this only while checking in and apart from 2 small notices at reception there were no further notices eg in the rooms or corridors. Although 3 allocated areas, 2 are unavailable until pool areas open. Having to go up and downstairs to hotel front entrance to use the other smoking area was far from ideal, and I think probably not an ideal situation for the non smokers who have to pass by the area while entering and leaving the hotel (only access). As a smoker this really detracted from my holiday, and solely because of this smoking policy we will no longer be using this hotel.

“A few surprises for a 4 star Hotel.”

Stayed a week here in May, Hotel was clean, staff were pleasant and helpful, mention for Diana on Reception, superior room was fine, good powerful shower, 2 large beds, large balcony, efficient air con, good storage space and quiet at night. Stayed a week here in May, Hotel was clean, staff were pleasant and helpful, mention for Diana on Reception, superior room was fine, good powerful shower, 2 large beds, large balcony, efficient air con, good storage space and quiet at night. We were charged €26 to hire kettle which is a total RIP OFF!! l have never had to pay for a kettle in a 4 star Hotel in my life and l have travelled extensively. Food was never warm enough, though l know this is a problem with self service, there was plenty of choice and breakfast was good. Entertainment at night was very good. Rooftop pool was lovely. All areas very clean. No ice at the bar for a nightcap in room. Only 2 ladies toilets in reception area for such a large Hotel.
