Six of us on a family and friends yearly holiday together stayed here for a week, it is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. Cat and Pepe were so good at the daily entertainment, even got us to join in the games which we do not normally do, and singing on the stage in the evening. The staff were all friendly and helpful, special mention to Joy as well as Cat and Pepe, she was always smiley, Joy was a joy in fact.

“Great hotel - would be a 5* rating if they stoped people reserving sunbeds”

Great location and close to lots of amenities. About a 7-8 min walk to the beach. Easy transport links to Cambrils, Reus and Tarragona. Busses are cash only! Rooms. Basic but nice bathrooms. Great location and close to lots of amenities. About a 7-8 min walk to the beach. Easy transport links to Cambrils, Reus and Tarragona. Busses are cash only! Rooms. Basic but nice bathrooms. Comfortable beds and the fridge is excellent and actually kept things cold! Food nice - genuinely impressed with the food and the choice. If you are half board and want to have lunch instead you can request this 24 hours before at the restaurant. Pools, it’s a shame as lots of people reserve subbed as soon as it opens. It’s not like other hotels where there’s a mad rush but there are entitled and self centred individuals who still reserved the beds. When the lifeguard put a letter on the beds advising them not to do so, the selfish individuals laughed, binned the letter and left the beds for the whole day. Don’t even bother with the roof top pool as it’s always full. The hotel need to sort this to avoid it becoming a laughing stock like other hotels in the area. Entertainment team - lovely and great fun playing the games. Really fun and engaging. Hotel is no smoking but people do so openly on the balcony. There were also instances of lazy people smoking cigarettes at the ground floor pool. I couldn’t believe that no one stopped them! The hotel is accessible for disabled guests and, I’d say is the best I’ve ever stayed at. I’m not in a wheelchair but am mobility impaired and this was so easy for me. I didn’t even have to think about adjustments and that’s a first! I would consider the hotel again but the sunbed issue is a serious turn off and is the only thing that would make me choose elsewhere.

Hotel 10 Vintage Salou A couple 17 – 27 June Positives: Comfortable bed. Air con fabulous. Clean bedrooms (albeit room was not cleaned until about 4.30 in the afternoon, one day it was missed but the housekeeper came back and immediately sorted it). We were in the hotel for nine days, in that time the sheets or pillowcases were not changed, at home my bed linen is changed weekly (every 7 days). Negatives: 500 rooms I guess, 18 parasols (some of these reserved for disabled) Parasols We had to queue each day for a parasol, which was essential because my husband had recently recovered from skin cancer on his head. Never for one moment did we think this would be an issue. I agree that beds should not be reserved if the clients are going out for the day but if you are going to breakfast surely that is acceptable. My husband and I did not have breakfast together once. Notices were put on the beds and one day all the towels were taken off the beds (I guess due to the recent case where a client sued the hotel chain for not having enough beds, not my fault!!!). Bar staff: Definitely need an up-to-date course on customer care and service. Attitude problems, especially one member of the bar staff (should I name her) that was difficult as all the other bar staff had name tags, this individual did not until the last day of our holiday mmmm. Heard a few clients’ complaints about her attitude. I think, perhaps, if you are that miserable in your job you should try another one (not customer focused). I asked for a glass of ice to take to my room I was informed “the ice machine was broke” then said it was only for service. Perhaps that should have been explained to me, company policy there seems to be a lot of that at this hotel. Do not fob me off with saying the machine is broken, really. The day after a notice appeared on the bar that no ice was available unless in your drink that you purchased. However, there was one waiter, (the one who served the food in the bar who seemed to be in any way happy and there to help). Other than him we felt as if we were an intrusion into the bar staffs’ working day. Also Ana in the dining room was very welcoming and helpful. Overall experience: Absolutely dire, we felt the most unwelcome we have ever been in any establishment we have ever attended. The rooms need an update. The reception area is beautiful but does not expand to the other areas in the hotel. The outside shower did not work, none of the men’s urinals at the pool toilet worked. Advertised as an Adult only hotel, on one occasion I am sure the clients were not 16 years of age more like 14. No British tv except for one news channel (when I asked at reception was told, with a smirk on her face that was it in other words “like it or lump it”). The entrance to this allegedly 4-star establishment is the smoking area, the sofas are old and torn the ashtrays were full to the brim, no choice but to pass as this was the only entrance. The drink measures were tiny, unusual for Spain unless this is because of Brexit. Definitely definitely not a 4 star hotel more Premier Inn. Should be downgraded to 3 stars at least. Potters bar across the road from the hotel was a life saver. Staff fabulous enjoyed a great evening, full of fun and welcoming attitude. Take note Hotel 10 Vintage Salou.
