We have just returned from a week at the charming Cala Font Hotel. Everything was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is lovely, the rooms, the lobby, the pool and also the dining room. The view is simply beautiful and at night we could here the sea lapping against the rocks, which was very calming and peaceful. The staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us. We were half board which comprised of breakfast and evening meal, however some days we swapped the evening meal for lunch, which was really good. Good quality local produce and the range of food was very varied and tasty. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and we used it to visit Salou and also Cambrils - which is a must if you are looking for something really Spanish and lively. The rooftop has a pool and sun beds, however there is a €15 pp charge, which we felt was pricy but you can go up there for the views and a drink in the evening without a charge. Main pool has entertainment throughout the day and the relaxation hour was welcomed by all. Would definitely stay again and we would recommend this little gem to anyone thinking of booking a holiday to Cap Salou. Book it, you’ll not regret it!

We had a lovely stay at Cala Font and really enjoyed our holiday. Rooms were clean with fresh towels daily, though the floors could have been cleaner. Food had lots of variety but was mostly cold or lukewarm, no matter what time we went. Thankfully there was a microwave available. Pool area was great ,clean, plenty of sunbeds, and never struggled to get one. Animation team worked really hard and added a good vibe. Good location for buses and supermarkets, but expect hills either way. Buses to Salou run regularly and the T10 travel card from Bus Plana is great value. Beach is a short walk away, plus a few shops and bars nearby. Rooftop bar and pool was a highlight,lovely views and atmosphere in the evening. Overall, a really nice holiday and would return.

Stayed for three nights at the Hotel Cala Font, and the hotel is a mixed bag. Firstly, the hotel is excellently located - Reus airport was a pleasant surprise and a max of 20 mins from the hotel by taxi - it was no problem to get to and from the airport at the taxis were about €35 each way. I booked a sea view room and the view was very good - although the noise from the pool can sometimes mean its not as peaceful as it could be - the hotel is located very close to the beach which was very busy when I stayed. Local amenities include a pharmacy, supermarket, some reasonable restaurants in very close walking distance, an Irish bar and Salou all in walking distance. The rooms were a mixed bag - they felt recently renovated but attention to detail around the cleanliness could be improved - in my room for example the shower head hadn't been cleaned for a while and neither had the extractor fan, and there was the odd grubbier stain which should have been picked up by housekeeping. I had maintenance issues with the TV and the air con which were fixed quickly enough when they were reported to reception. The other point to note - as some reviewers have also shared, is that the hotel is very noisy and noise travels from room to room. Housekeeping are not quiet at all and start early, which means you can hear them (and your neighbours) at all hours of the day through quite thin walls. The breakfast offering was generally very good with lots of choice - breakfast gets busy though, and doesn't start till 8am - which is inconvenient if you have an early flight like I did - it meant I effectively paid for one whole breakfast that I couldn't use. I was charged €35 extra to check in early, which I didn't mind as this was an extra accommodation, but this wasn't publicised anywhere prior to arrival despite me messaging the property ahead of time. Where the hotel lets itself down sadly, is the staff - who really need a refresher in customer service. The hotel feels a bit joyless, and this is sadly down to staff who are a bit sullen, rude, and don't seem to enjoy their jobs or serving guests. There is a lot of eye-rolling and a general lack of courtesy everywhere, which is a shame as this hotel has the potential to be a real stand out in its location. A hello and a smile goes a long way, particularly at Reception and the restaurants, and I worry this will be my lasting perspective of this hotel which has the potential for so much more.
