40mins from Barcelona as we were 1st drop,therefore transfer was good (via EasyJet). Quiet location in terms of Salou itself. 40mins from Barcelona as we were 1st drop,therefore transfer was good (via EasyJet). Quiet location in terms of Salou itself. Walk to the beach within 15mins if you wanted and House of Illusions is there- book in advance or be disappointed like us at not getting tickets. If you want more nightlife then you can taxi in for 13E as 20mins to main strip. DO NOT bother going to the night Market on a Monday. 15 jewellery stalls opposite a tiny little fun fair. Waste of time. Hotel: can't complain about cleanliness although our other room (had 3 rooms booked as 3 families travelled) had to ring reception to have beds changed but they did this immediately. We asked to be located near each other and were all on the same floor in same corridor. Balconies are pretty pants with only room for one plastic chair. Entertainment was good with different things each night. It's either going to be your taste or not but they have outside entertainers from 10-11 each night which brings variety. Food was reasonable, typical nuggets, chips sausages available each day, with different options daily as the main. E.g. beef, lamb or pork. Everyone in our party of 10 (age 1-65) ate 3 meals a day. Drinks were fine. 1E and you keep a cup that you change each time, clever as cups are not left laying around here there and everywhere. Pool was OK, managed the size by not letting large floats in the pools, as they are not the biggest. I have never had to queue for sunbeds on a holiday, this was the first for me. People were literally running/ shoving through when opened at 9am. Then they would leave. Meant to be a 45min not on bed, removal of towels- I didn't see that once but I saw plenty of unoccupied beds all day. This needs enforcing if the rule. Meant that to ensure you had a seat by the pool you had to be up and ready, there was no leasure to the morning routine. Air con around the hotel was a joke. They have bought in fans but the whole place was hot. Everyone was going to the local shops to buy portable fans. We had a power cut and water pressure drop on one day lasted maybe 2hours in total. Overall was good, kids loved it but I wouldn't go back there with the current air-con and lack of loungers to guest availability.
