We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo Oasis. The atmosphere in the hotel is great and it's very sociable. * We were on the 14th floor overlooking the pool and literally heard no noise from the Lidl being built nearby or the hospital works. The only noise was from maintenance drilling as they replaced towel rails on balconies. This is a necessary job and was during the day so didn't impact on us much * Food was amazing. A huge variety and you could have something different every day. Examples during our stay were scrambled, fried, hard boiled eggs, omelettes, cereals, pancakes, churros, beans, plum tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, donuts, cakes, pan au chocolat, danish pastries, fresh and tinned fruit, yoghurt. Soups, salads, belly pork, salmon, beef, lamb, chicken, curries, casseroles, stews, hamburgwrs, hot dogs, pizza, pasta and sauces, vegetables, chips, roast potatoes, boiled potatoes,lasagne, meatballs. They also had a decent range of gluten free and vegetarian options. Desserts were amazing with lovely cakes, brownies, jelly, mousse and ice creams. Lots of different cheeses and cooked meats too. Drinks in the restaurant were wine, prosecco, coke, limon, fanta orange etc and carafes of water. You could also have tea and various coffees from a machine at every meal. I haven't stayed at another hotel in Benidorm with as much choice. The Staff were very busy in the restaurant and bars and the hotel is probably a bit short staffed. This is the same in most hotels in benidorm at the moment. * Entertainment was good. The piano room had a few good acts and the best we saw was Jill Ryan. She was excellent. Downstairs was a good cabaret venue and we enjoyed the drag show 'This is me'. * Drinks were good. Local vodka, coconut rum, baileys and dark rum were good. I tried the pina colada in the downstairs bar and that was really good. There's about 10 different cocktails and they were very popular. We stayed on the basic included package and it included Gordons gin, Captain morgan dark and white rum and branded tequila. If we wanted a premium drink we paid around 2.50 euros. This was for Captain Morgans spiced rum or cans of John Smiths. You can upgrade for 15 euros a day or 20 euros a day. I couldn't find any info on what was included in the 15 or the 20 other than it's for upgraded drinks. If you wanted to upgrade to club room it's 50 euros a day * Room was spacious with 2 sinks in bathroom, overhead shower in bath, balcony, fridge, tv, settee. The safe was 3 euros a day plus 6 euro refundable deposit. We had ants in the bathroom but once I reported it, maintenance came up very quickly to sort it. * Resort- We had some lovely walks along the beachfront and to the old town and Mirador. Weather was ideal for walking at around 19 degrees. The outdoor market was very good for costume jewellery and summer clothes. We saw a few acts including comedians Crissy Rock, Levi G, Jimmy Bright and Gary George. All worth seeing and very funny. * Safety- Please be careful when out and about in resort. Keep your money safe and close to you. Only take as much money as you need and keep your valuables in a safe. There was lots of reports of pick pocketing while we were there. In particular phones, bank cards and money. We change our cash at Tonys or Sheilas at the indoor market and have done for years. Not only do you get the best rates but they give you a card to use after your first visit which you show after that, so you don't need to take your passport again. I usually take my phone out during the day to take pictures but didn't this time. If you see a group of men betting on where a pea is under a potato, keep on walking. These are organised gangs including pick pockets. If someone asks you to sign a petition politely say no. They'll start shouting at you for money if you sign. This was probably the busiest I've ever seen Benidorm. We had a brilliant time and this hotel is excellent, just have your wits about you when out and about
