This hotel deserves a slightly better rating than the average 3 * is has on TripAdvisor. Reading through the reviews there is not really anything that people complains about. It is mostly just that the hotel could use a "facelift"... Well, in my view this is actually a good hotel that suit my needs. Free public parking just outside the hotel on the other side of the street. Smiling helpfull woman at the front dest with a good level of english. Nice size room with enough space so that I don't trip over my suitcase, a good double bed, airconditioning, wifi, a decent bathroom and general good cleaning. This hotel has that, but un top You get a small fridge and a balcony with evening sun where there is a small table and two chairs. The cafe next door serves very good orange juice and one of the best cups of coffee in Spain. The biggest downside is the noise from the traffic. I got a "silent" room facing a small park. Even here the traffic noise is noticeable during daytime, at night it is better. A very persistent mosquito spoiled my sleep, but that was my decision to sleep with the door open. You need to let the hot water run for a short while. All in all this is a pretty good hotel situated really good. Cafe´ and supernarked next door, 5 minutes walk to the citycenter and harbour.

Hotel staff very friendly, Paco on reception was very good, also lady on reception, sorry did not catch name, was also very nice, bar staff attentive, room was big, bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom was large, shower was over bath I always find these awkward to enter/exit also shower was not quite strong enough as is usual for this type of shower. Door did not lock automatically when closed from outside needed key to lock, unusual nowadays, however overall very nice stay would stay again.

There is not a lot of choice in Ayamonte hotels-wise so I picked this for its location. Wasn’t really expecting a lot and knew of its location from a previous day-trip last year from Vila Real across the river but it was a pleasant surprise for the price We payed. Got it for a steal as I booked quite far in advance. Arrived in Ayamonte by bus from Seville and the hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the bus station. We were allowed to check in at approx 12:15pm so this was a plus after the 3 hour journey. I had requested a room overlooking the zoo/park area and on a high floor and we got both. The room was basic and old -fashioned looking but clean and functional. Good overbath shower with good water pressure. Plenty of storage, a tv and a mini fridge. The sink was cracked though and had a stagnant smell coming up through the plug-hole. The fridge did work (just) but was clogged up with ice and the fridge bulb had melted the plastic on the roof of the casing so I don’t really think it was safe to use. The rooms could benefit from a modernisation and freshen up to make them brighter. We DID get our park view though and it was very peaceful as we were away from the road. Unfortunately the park is in rather a sorry state and for what is in it I think personally it should be closed. The hotel does not provide breakfast but there is a Delta cafe just next door. We only ate there for one of the mornings as we thought the waiter that served us was quite rude and he did not bring our change back, just obviously thought we were tipping him but I like to make that decision for myself. We won’t be visiting this region of Spain for a while now as we have toured most of it but if we are ever back in the area we would go back but only because as I say choice for the town are very limited. I would hope that it has had a re-furb by then. It seems to be stuck in a time warp.
