Hotel booked by my partner Nina as a surprise for my birthday, when we arrived check in was fast and efficient reception staff were friendly patient answering any question we had on arrival. Room location was in the Adults area and was a small walk from reception. The room was clean spacious with everything we needed for our stay, the bed was comfy one of the best nights sleep I have had and a view looking towards the sea from the balcony. Food in the restaurant was to a very good standard it was warm and plentiful always being replenished when running low, I found that we was never short of different things to have for breakfast, lunch and evening meals, the staff in the restaurant gave 100% always chatty and friendly. We also had included in our stay was a meal in the La Choza Restaurant which we chose to have to have on my birthday we had to go to reception area to book, the only downside was it was very busy and waited in the que for at least 30 minutes but once we got into the booking office we was greeted with a smile and shown a menu our order was taken and we picked a day. And I can say the meal was amazing and also the waiting staff. One thing I would like to see in the main restaurant is in the evening meal that dinning attire was enforced a bit more, like no sandals long trousers (men) smart shirt or T shirts. Pool areas and gym: The main large pool looks looks brilliant and every one seem to be enjoying it I can not comment on water temperature as we did not use the pool, like wise with the swim up bar in the adults area it was busy but we did not use. I did use the gym a few times but found it a bit out dated but useable. The adult naturist area was nice and this is where we spent most of our time chilling, there was a sandwiches brought in and refrigerated and a good selection of drinks available. I did make use of the steam room and sauna where a little menthol aroma in them but overhaul they was very clean. On the 22nd November we decide on a long walk to Morro Jable took us about 40minutes each way, and to my surprise when we returned to the hotel that evening there was a bottle of Sparkling wine and a card compliments from the hotel which was a lovey touch. I am sure there is plenty I have missed out but I never have wanted to return to a hotel before as much as I do this one and we have booked again for this November. On the last note hands on my heart all the staff I met gave 100% friendly and professional, food amazing well done to all.

“A safe bet for Canaries Visit”

Fatima is exceptional, the food I am glad the now serve in the main restaurant more times during the day. Its nice to be able to eat in El Lagar even of you don't have a booking. Very family friendly. Very safe. Highly recommendable for a relaxing vacation

Nice room on second floor in block 7 with lovely view across pool and sea. Layout was lovely with palm trees and flowering shrubs. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Good selection of varying food each evening. Nice sea views from all pool areas and one of restaurants for late breakfast and lunch. Lovely pool areas and naturist pool. My suggestions would be open the pool bar later than 6pm (still warm enough to stay in evening sun) and would be nice to have outdoor eating area off main restaurant when the hotel gets a refit. As there is no courtesy room add hair drier to the Spa changing area

Okay so there and good bits and not so good bits...I'll try and cover it all for you. We went to this hotel for the adults only option and that was fairly good. There are not many children here anyway which was great for a relaxing break. Half of the hotel was for adults only, accommodation had an adults only side where all the pools, sauna, gym, spa treatments and hot tubs were for adult only use. There were adults only sections in the restaurants and evening entertainment was for adults too (silver wristband). It would have been nice to have a smart adult only bar. Gym was a fairly good size and lots of equipment, though some a little worn. Location wise there is not much here, it is on a large roundabout with a supermarket, that's it! We did walk along the beach one day to the local town, it’s a lovely beach and walk, but it was about 8km (it's 10euro in a taxi). In the town there are lots of shops, but not much in the way of bars and restaurants. Market on Thursday mornings. Staff in general were friendly and helpful, the reception staff try to help as much as they can. Food we enjoyed, there was lots of choice. The cook station had pancakes, omelettes, and eggs on the go in the morning and then grilled meat and fish for lunch and dinner. There was a pizzeria area for dinner also with some pasta bits. Desserts did get a little samey, but there was fruit, ice cream, mousse, and chocolate fountain most nights as well as opera cakes and lovely brownies. There is a general a la carte you can go to once per stay and an additional adult only a la carte. There are lots of pools and lots of loungers. The main pool is large, lots of sunbeds and shades. There is a bar in the middle, but it was shut. There are then two smaller adult only pools (the larger of them has no sunshades). One was supposed to be heated, but it wasn’t, and it was a little chilly in there to swim for me at this time of year. There is also a hidden nudist pool. All the pools have self-serve drink stations, and some have a bar also. There is a pool attendant that keeps the area clean and tidy. Room wise we had some issues. The first mattress we had was not nice, hard, and cheap. We tried toppers which didn’t help, but it did get swapped after 2 nights for a much better mattress. The fridge didn’t work, we reported it twice, but it never got fixed. The bathroom sink plug was broken and never got fixed. The door covering the fridge area swung out but did get fixed. The room itself was a fair size with a big bed (which was good once the mattress was swapped). The TV was a small flat screen, not smart TV so we could not use it for Netflix etc. Bathroom was ok size, good pressure in the shower (over bath). Bath was a little small but was useable. Safe was a little tricky to use. Adequate cupboard space. Fresh bottle of water in room every day. Lots of mirrors, a little lacking in plug sockets, but we made it work. Got bitten by mosquito quite badly when we left the balcony doors open for a bit, kept them shut for the rest of the holiday. There is only free Wi-Fi in the lobby and it’s not great. For Wi-Fi around the hotel/room you must pay extra, we were not happy about this. We were told this may be changing in future to be included. Hardly any spirits are included in the standard adults all-inclusive package, there was no local amaretto or limoncello for example and only 4 cocktail options were included (Pina colada, blue lagoon, mojito and love on the beach). In the additional premium drinks package more alcohol options were included, but still many cocktails were not and were pay extra. Check out. Well as we left later, we could have late checkout (6pm) for a charge of 65 euros! The only other option was to shower in the gym or spa. In the spa there was no changing rooms, and the showers were cold. In the gym the showers were FULL of mosquitos! Beach is lovely, but if you want to use a sunbed and shade you have to pay. All in all, we liked Fuerteventura (weather was nice, bring a jumper for evenings though), but would not come back to this hotel, it was okay, but not good enough to return. Final note…hire a car, driving here is easy and almost everything to see is free entry and free parking. There are some lovely spots to visit and best to do this on your own schedule. Our small car was 50 euros for the day to hire, we drove the whole island in a day, and it cost 20 euro in fuel.
