“Lovely hotel, but...”

This is a great hotel, ideally situated in St Agustin, about a 10 minute walk (downhill) to a lovely sandy beach. The hotel staff were all exceptionally welcoming, helpful and efficient. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily. The courtesy coach which ran twice a day to Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas was a nice touch, and I made use of this a couple of times. The food was generally good, although could be a bit "hit and miss" at times. (Brussels sprouts for breakfast!) There was always a good choice of salads and desserts, and the seafood was excellent. Waiting staff were extremely attentive (sometimes a little TOO attentive at times!) The griddle bar/roast meat section let it down slightly, and could be improved by offering a greater choice and higher quality of meat/fish. My only slight criticism of the hotel was that, as others have commented, the entertainment was far too loud (my room was immediately opposite the outdoor stage) and went on far too late. I would suggest either ending the entertainment earlier, or reducing the volume from, say 10pm. Unfortunately my holiday was seriously affected by the appalling communication between the Thalasso Centre and myself prior to arriving. I had emailed a few weeks prior to my arrival to ask about booking sessions in the pools and had been told to book these when I got there. When I went up to the Thalasso centre I was told, by the same woman (J) who had answered my email (she was the only English staff member I spoke to) that the pools were shut for annual maintenance from 20th April until 22nd May, and that the Thalasso Centre had notified all tour operators "months ago" about this. (I contacted my tour operator and they had NOT received any notification of this closure). I showed J her email to me and she just shrugged her shoulders and refused to engage further in any discussion about it. The ONLY reason I booked this hotel was for the Thalasso pools, and was utterly devastated that I had travelled all that way only to find I was unable to use them. To give the hotel its due, the Reception staff arranged for me to use the adults only rooftop "chillout" area free of charge for the week, which was a nice touch, but in no way made up for the extreme disappointment of not having the Thalasso pools experience. In summary, a lovely hotel, with great staff. Shame about the Thalasso.

Currently staying at the Gloria Hotel, the hotel is immaculate and the rooms are lovely, the food it nice however the issue I feel is annoying is you need to have your room key scanned every time you want a drink or enter the buffet restaurant, this is so they can monitor you, the bands given are no use as withought your key you don’t get served, the snack bar doesn’t have food ready, you need to sit down and order from menu, ok it’s fresh food but doesn’t help if your travelling with young kids who just want something on the go, the entertainment so far has consisted of a solo keyboard player/singer a solos singer and a violinist, I’ve yet to see a live show but the singers have been good just a little lost on the stage. Overall it is a lovely hotel but not what your used to if you normally go all inclusive, I’m here in May so maybe evening entertainment gets better as the months go on. I can’t fault the hotel other than these issues. It’s only a 10 min walk down a hill to local bars and shops

We stayed with our two 14 year olds for 7 nights in a family annexe room. The room was nice and clean and had 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. It’s great to have the kids in a separate room. We stayed with our two 14 year olds for 7 nights in a family annexe room. The room was nice and clean and had 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. It’s great to have the kids in a separate room. It’s in an excellent location, there are some bars, restaurants and shops just a 5 minute walk away as is the beach. There are plenty of sunbeds. We managed to get a double sunbed lounger with canopy everyday which was comfortable. The cocktails are excellent and the food is nice. Some food is repetitive but this happens in all types of all inclusive hotels. The evening entertainment was ok. Usually consisted of a live singer (all of which were good) followed by something different (dancers etc). The only thing that we found slightly annoying was needing to take a key card to the bar to get drinks so they can check we were all inclusive. It would be much easier to have different types of wristbands for the different board basis’ but this is the only negative thing I would mention.
