“Great family holiday”

Stayed for a week with a family including 4 children. It’s not a 5 star holiday and doesn’t claim to be. It was clean enough, food was good, yeah sometime they ran out of something, but 5 mins later it was replaced. There was something different in the buffet every night. Swimming pool was completely fine, no issues at all! The staff did various games in the pool daily to keep people Entertained. Staff I spoke to were all friendly. I don’t normally do reviews, but have this time as I feel the hotel is getting unfair negative reviews. Location is a bit up a hill from the beach, but we knew that when booking. Overall a great family holiday was had!

We have just returned from an 9 day holiday staying at the Montemar and we had the best time ! I had read the reviews before hand and I’m not going to lie I was a little nervous ! However, we have a lovely 2 bedroom apartment including a massive balcony. The apartment got cleaned regularly. The staff were friendly and efficient at their jobs. We stayed self catering so I can’t comment on the food . But for the price we paid it was well worth the money . I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to in order to put any nervous people at ease that the hotel is lovely and conveniently located by town . I wasn’t a fan of the trip up hill so would often get taxi back up for 5 euros.

“Okay for clubbing holiday not families”

Okay if you just using it as a place to rest and eat while going out but don’t come here if you are a family with young kids The food on all inclusive was basic nothing amazing but enough to keep you full. Okay if you just using it as a place to rest and eat while going out but don’t come here if you are a family with young kids The food on all inclusive was basic nothing amazing but enough to keep you full. Same with the drinks. You could pay extra for cocktails, frozen drinks and snacks like pizza and burritos. The bar staff were super friendly to our little one always saying hello and talking to him. They use a token system and you can only get two drinks per person so had to do multiple trips to get drinks for us and our little one. So we bought cups that we could fill up at the bar rather than keep bringing the cups back to the table. Our room was kept well cleaned by housekeeping, but our balcony door wouldn’t lock and our toilet was broken it took two days of asking at reception for anyone to come fix it. And don’t leave any food in your room or it would be infested with ants. The main pool was clean and lifeguarded the children’s pool where the kids club was only got cleaned once while we were there, everyday we had to scoop the dead bugs, fruit, straws, empty cups and leafs out the pool before little one could go play. It also dyed out white swim stuff yellow. No lifeguard on duty there but it was very shallow. The magician and dancers for evening entertainment was great, how ever the kids disco and kids entertainment in general was the worst ive ever seen! The kids disco when it actually happened was just two kids with microphones screaming along to music we recorded it hitting over 90 decibels way too loud for little ears. The kids club workers only cared about one family and ignored all others the children of this family were being hugged, kissed, carried and had pictures taken of them by the entertainment workers, not sure if they were family but as a childcare worker i found it inappropriate. Our child was never once spoken to by the kids club workers even though he was desperate to join the disco. They did a pool side disco on our last night which consisted of them wheeling out a speaker playing music off it and then going and sitting with this family for the rest of the evening. On Wednesdays there is no kids club at all. If you are staying here bring a refillable cup for your drinks and flip flops for by the pool as it gets very hot and slippy.

“Great Location with some improvements possible that didn’t spoil our holiday.”

Cala Llonga is a great bay. Montemar is up a steep hill from the beach. The apartments are spread over a steep site with lots (I mean lots) of steps. Beautiful setting surrounded by trees. Some apartments have lovely big balconies with great views. Great to be able to ALWAYS get a bed around pool… more

Cala Llonga is a great bay. Montemar is up a steep hill from the beach. The apartments are spread over a steep site with lots (I mean lots) of steps. Beautiful setting surrounded by trees. Some apartments have lovely big balconies with great views. Great to be able to ALWAYS get a bed around pool. Food satisfactory on all Inc. did the job. Strange that they limit certain drinks at different meal times. My son doesn’t like fizzy drinks so his dinner choice was water. No beer either in restaurant. Room was adequate. Not much space around the bed in the double bed room and child had to walk through bedroom to access toilet. A little bit old but clean sheets and regular towel changes. Also a comfy mattress and good curtains. I felt the pool could do with a bit of attention. Slightly green around the water line and broken steps - noted this on previous reviews but the wobbly steps still there. All Inc drinks good queues good for an all Inc except for days with only 1 bar staff. Also great snack bar with abrupt service. When we looked this was one of the cheapest options on Ibiza and we found it satisfactory but feel that certain things could be improved. For instance the bins on the path by us weren’t emptied for days and staff just piled up bags of rubbish around them. The setting and layout of rooms would mean I would stay again as it is peaceful and beautiful. You need to be fit to get up the steps.
