I have booked to visit Lanzarote again this year, having enjoyed a fabulous holiday last year and will once again be staying at Bungalows Playa Limones (yay!) I have never before returned to the same place twice as the world is a very big place, but last year's holiday exceeded all my expectations and ticked all boxes so what more could I want! Firstly, the location of these bungalows is fantastic: the beach is directly across the road which is a massive bonus as nobody wants to be trekking to a beach in the heat! The beach is very pretty and even in peak season it wasn't too busy.....we could always find a spot with ample space around us to spread out and a beach shop is available to purchase much needed cold drinks and refreshments. An approximate half hour walk along the promenade leads you to the main shopping centre where there is an abundance of shops and supermarkets (one of which was huge and had a satisfying choice for my vegan dietry requirements !), as well as cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops which stay open for late evening shopping. If you don't want to venture so far, there is a well stocked supermarket within a 5 minute walk of the accommodation which is very handy for buying fresh bread, water and any other essentials. The bungalows themselves are spacious and well equipped - and whilst some reviews point out that the decor needs updating, this wasn't an issue for me, as the fact that everything was so clean, fresh and tidy far outweighed the need for the orangey wood tones of the furniture to be changed! The twin beds were comfortable with plenty of fresh bedding supplied, comfy pillows and an additional sleeping area on the long sofa if required. Fans can be hired at reception, though we didn't feel a need for them as there was a pleasant/adequate breeze from opening the windows and the sliding doors. The terrace is huge with two adjustable loungers, a small table with two chairs, and it's private for sunbathing. The pool area was never crowded (I guess most people go to the beach) and there were plenty of poolside sun loungers to relax on and read a book. The staff on reception at Playa Limones are friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble....always a bonus if you need anything. All in all, I can't fault anything about the Bungalows, they are private, well equipped, fabulously located and I would recommend them to anybody wanting a good base to stay and explore the beautiful island of Lanzarote!
