We stayed as a family of 4 one the second week of April. I was apprehensive after reading the reviews. I was aware of the slide closures after reading reviews, I contacted the hotel who also confirmed. I contacted the holiday company and got £310 returned - this was well received. The hotel is huge, and despite other reviews I found it clean and well maintained. The food was good, plenty of options - I’d be surprised if even the most picky eater couldn’t enjoy something every meal. The biggest con for us was the bar service and lack of seats at entertainment. Most bar staff are very rude and appear that you are annoying them asking for a drink that you’ve paid for. The entertainment is what you’d expect however, if you don’t get there early you can’t see or hear what’s going on. We had a great time, and would happily return.

I would 100% recommend. I would say come for your own experience as everyone is completely different but we expected a sh1thole from the reviews on here! When we arrived we were cautious after reading the reviews. Check in is 3pm but we arrived at 1pm and our room was ready! Room cleaned 6 days a week. Don’t clean on Fridays. Close Beach is about 20 min walk or €3/€4 in a taxi. 4 slides are out of order due to maintenance. Wore given tickets to another park 45 min drive away which included lunch and a drink and transport. cleanliness is 7/10. There’s a few ants on the floors, we wore in a ground floor room don’t know if that makes a difference. The supermarket closes 6pm which I think is ridiculous as the nearest one is on the beach which is 20 min walk away, not so good for families with small kids. Entertainment is great. 80% of the staff is friendly and helpful I have had a bad experience with one of the receptionist. Food on the pool bar can become cold quicker as it is outside. If food is cold on buffet inside there is microwave to heat up food. Breakfast is amazing! We have picky eaters and there was something every night for dinner for them to pick! Laundry room is a great touch but dryer was broken :( Go karts in the Dino park are also pricy! €10 a kart for 10 mins, we have 3 kids which meant €30 2/3 times a day! The playground and play zone in the Dino park definitely needs an upgrade! I wouldn’t recommend that part! There’s plenty for the kids to do and to keep busy! The cocktails are strong. Was tipsy from one! :)))

Over all we had a great family holiday. The pools and water park were great and the kids really loved them. The staff were friendly and always willing to help with any questions you might have. The food was mostly ok, with some evening dinners very enjoyable. The HL Paradise Island it self is clean and well presented, but the apartments are quite shabby. Lots of damaged items like, furniture, doors, gaps and cracks. It was clear that our apartments had seen some pretty wild holiday makers and were still bearing the scars. We went all inclusive, so local drinks like wine and beer were nice. However there was far too much binge drinking going on. Which inevitably lead to domestic's, that we had the pleasure of listing to for 6 of our 7 night stay. On one occasion a bar fight broke out just as the children's entertainment was about to start. That said, we didn't let this ruin our holiday, we had excepted from the start, that were not the only people there on a budget holiday. And that we, or the management can not predict the caliber of some holiday makers.
