Tui Blue Flamingo Beach is superb! We travelled as a couple with our 2.5 year old son whose favourite phrase over the holiday was ‘I having so much fun’ and ‘I a happy chappy!’. This hotel is fantastic for young children - splash pool, Mickey Mouse pool and all of the other pools were brilliant. Everything is kept spotless and the food for an all inclusive is really good - fresh fruit, salads and meat/fish every day. Option of pizza, pasta, chips etc also there too. The staff here are brilliant - very friendly and always on hand if you need anything. There is so much to do - indoor soft play, all the pools, play park, so close to the beach. We walked to the market on Saturday which was great and I really enjoyed all the running routes along the seafront to the marina and to the lighthouse. The apartments are really good with everything you need - good size, very clean with microwave etc. Only thing to note was that you couldn’t lock the door from the inside which if your toddler can escape a travel cot to be aware of! However, the whole resort felt very safe! All round fabulous holiday! Thank you Tui Blue Flamingo Beach.

We have been coming to Flamingo Beach since 2010 and it delivers every time. The food is great and the included meal in the taverna is a must. We have made some great friends who work there. Nando, Omar in the taverna, Salek, Khatre, Maria to name a few. It’s a great resort that is close to the beach and only a short walk from the town where there are plenty of places to eat. Yes it’s geared up for families but have met lots of couples who have enjoyed it there too. A quiet place to have a drink would be great. There was one several years ago and we made use of that too. Don’t be put off by people who moan about the place. Go and enjoy your holidays.

I'll get my main gripe out of the way first - depending on where you look, this hotel has been described as having a 2*, 3* or 4* rating. I only realised this after booking, and honestly feel a bit duped by TUI about booking a 2/3* hotel when I thought it was 4* . Since TUI are linked to this hotel, I feel justified in bringing this up here. Now to our actual experience (11 night stay for a family of 4 - kids aged 9 and 5) CHECK IN Drab and uninspiring reception area. Minimal instructions on check-in (despite there being no queue of people waiting) and no help with getting our luggage to the room. The TUI rep meetings were primarily to flog you excursions. ROOM Decent size and a roomy lounge with two sofas that could be slept in. Pleasantly surprised with the amount of storage/shelving. Nice size of verandah/porch as an external space. Both bath and pool towels provided. Rooms cleaned 5 days a week - kudos to the cleaning staff who do a bang-up job! FOOD Fairly standard AI offering. Good variety and always found something to eat. Breakfasts tended to be the same every day. Themed dinners were good (particularly Asian) but infrequent. Agree with other reviews that mention the fairly uninspiring venue - a few skylights didn't change the 'canteen' feel. But it was good to see the staff cooking fresh food right up to closing times. A bit disappointing that there is only one ala carte option included in AI (am used to 2-3 at least for a double-digit stay). The Taverna had a much nicer seafront location, but the food was quite similar to the main buffet (other than the very nice piece of steak I got). DRINKS/ BAR Again, fairly standard AI offering. The cocktails (only about 8-10 included in AI) - you're more likely to get diabetes before you get drunk. The local 'Tropical' lager is serviceable. The main bar only opens in the evening. So in the daytime we had to use the pool bar. Not great having to use small plastic/paper cups for beer! POOL Great and popular pool areas - we just used the main and kids/splash areas. Even during the busy Easter periods we could always find a sunbed or 2. LOCATION This is the best thing about the hotel and was key to us having a great holiday. Our room (92B) was located a minute away from the pool/bar/buffet areas (appreciate the allocation!). Mainly though - the promenade and beach were almost at our doorstep. The beach is perfect for families - sheltered by 2 different wavebreaks, the waters were calm and amazingly clear with lots of life (especially near the wave breaks). Perfect for getting young children into snorkelling. Playa Blanca only a 15-20 min walk away. Dive clubs 5-10 mins walk away (would recommend as the beach is a perfect starting point for a relaxing shore dive). There is also the Aqualava splash park a 10 min walk away. ENTERTAINMENT There are kids/babies clubs but we didn't use them so can't comment. The team are clearly very hard working and are great with kids. The entertainment roster was quite busy but the shows were fairly average bar the acrobatics/ circus shows. In summary - we had a great time. My main gripe was I had higher expectations based on what I thought this hotel would be like and how much I paid for it. It has a really good family-friendly atmosphere. Food/drinks/entertainment all middling AI fare. I would return to this hotel primarily for it's location and accessibility to the excellent Playa Flamingo beach.
