This was our 21st visit to this hotel and we can’t wait to go back again. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely ambience. Every member of staff is so friendly and kind, the hotel is cleaned to a very high standard and the gardens are well kept. This year we were delighted to see a new addition to the hotel, the oasis pool bar and swimming pool and although we had a couple of rainy days was well used as well as the swim up pool bar at the other pools. The food in all areas is excellent, the breakfast is outstanding with an amazing selection and in the evening a themed buffet every night. The lunch time bistro by the pool is excellent with a good range. We tried the grill restaurant one night and the steaks are amazing and another night the Spanish tapas restaurant downstairs, this was wonderful too . The bar is very well run and the waiters and barmen kind friendly and very efficient, they are all very hard working and always cheerful. There is a lovely spa as well which although we didn’t use it have been told that it is an excellent asset to the hotel. We had a royal terrace room which was fabulous and well worth the extra. Our room was cleaned every day to a very high standard as always. The grounds of the hotel are very tranquil and lots to do if you want to be busy. Wonderful walks with Marcel highly recommended. The evening entertainment is of a high quality. Without a doubt this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and would highly recommend it . Thank you to each and every one of the staff for making this the place we want to return to again and again.

This is a really fabulous hotel. The service was outstanding, every single member of staff was smiling and helpful and made you feel like they really valued you as a customer. The room (a garden suite) was a great size, with an enormous bed and some UK channels on the TV. We don't normally stay all inclusive but decided to try it this time and were really impressed with the selection and quality of food, expecially as the hotel was clearly nowhere near full this early in the season. We arrived around 9.45pm on the first night and expected to find the restaurant was closed but the hotel had still thoughtfully provided us with a bottle of wine, sandwiches and snacks which was really appreciated. We also had to leave before breakfast on the last day and once again, they opened the restaurant especially for those guests leaving early and provided an extensive choice. Thank you Viva Cala Mesquida for impressing us so much and making our holiday special.

Second visit to the hotel as we loved it the previous trip. I emailed in advance to let the hotel know we would arrive about 12.30pm on the off chance our room would be ready- I realise check-in isn't officially until later in the day. It wasn't ready, reception said they would call us when it was ready, so we went and had lunch. When no call came after lunch my partner went to reception- they had an offer for us, we could have 2 nights in a room with a rooftop terrace, and thereafter go to our own room. We took them up on this but regretted it on the day of changeover- we had to be out of the room by 11am but our own room wasn't ready until after 3pm, it was too much of a palaver so we wouldn't do this again. The hotel is lovely, but the issue they have with the gardens means the grounds are much smaller, and the loungers at that side of the pool are very cramped. There were some days where there was no lounger availability at times. This looks as if it may be going on for some time as a fence has been erected and trees planted so seems fairly permanent. The cabanas etc are now only for a certain class of guests or are chargeable which feels quite greedy as the hotel is fairly expensive. They lay empty a lot of the time- would it not be better to allow all guests to have the use of these and make their stay more enjoyable? Another change which is really annoying is the charge for the safe in your room. I have travelled all over the world and it has been many many years since I had to pay for a safe in a hotel! This was something from the seventies and eighties, and has no place in a hotel at this level in 2023. If the hotel needs the revenue so badly add it into the hotel costs, don't make the first thing you ask a guest for to be more money! As we previously found the staff are all fantastic. Possibly one or two more need at lunchtimes in the restaurant as it gets very busy and they staff are run off their feet. We missed the 'slush machine' strawberry daquiris and pina coladas- although the staff will make these individually they were much better out of the machine. I love that the bar has 'label' drinks such as Aperol and Bacardi etc... its lovely having these available on AI. We also missed having the ice lolly freezer at the bar, although you can go into the restaurant and they will make you an ice cream cone. Room amenities such as shampoo sewing kit etc not there this year. There were ants in our bathroom- I thought housekeeping would see this and take action, but we had to go to reception to report and they fixed the issue. Evening entertainment is ok, a bit samey- the acrobats were good and the Spanish dancers fantastic. Avoid the tour operator transfer, get a private taxi, so much quicker and more enjoyable. On the whole a beautiful relaxing hotel, food at lunch is fantastic, drink selection excellent and all staff are outstanding.

“Quiet secluded”

Can’t fault hotel for cleanliness and staff. If you want to spend holiday lazing in sun this is for you. Very remote and only spar shop near. Had a massage which was heavenly. There was walking trips up mountains available but not for me (disabled) . Good entertainment nightly
