“Another fabulous stay at Marsenses Rosa del Mar!”

We stayed at Marsenses for the second year and it was even better than the first! 2 adults and 2 children ages 10 and 14. Location: 5 min walk to palma nova and 5 min walk to magaluf in opposite direction. San Matias is beautiful and has a gorgeous beach. Also Aldi is just around the corner and plenty of shops and bars surround the hotel. However saying that there is no noise whatsoever on a night. Room: We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for the second time. 2 full sized bathrooms is a luxury and we have never found this elsewhere. The room was spotlessly clean and we had an option of daily room cleaning on arrival which we opted for. We were on the garden and mountain view side of the hotel which is peaceful and beautiful! Pool: I've read reviews saying broken tiles etc but this wasn't our experience. The poolside, and pool toilets are spotlessly clean and the pool itself is never overcrowded. There's chilled music playing quietly in the background, you can take part in pool games if you wish but no pressure to do so. Restaurant: half board, lovely food. Plenty of choice and excellent service from the staff. Again, buffet area spotlessly clean. Entertainment: our kids are a bit old for the hotel Entertainment but we did watch a boy band one night and it was good. Entertainment finishes at 10pm, presumably to be respectful to all the families with small children. Overall a superb stay....ALL staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel incredibly welcome. We probably want a change from Majorca next year but I wish wherever we go I could pick up the hotel and take it with us!

4 stars for the 4 star hotel. We go on holiday quite a lot and recently just wanted a nice beach holiday with a short flight from the UK. . We booked this hotel after reading the reviews about the calm atmosphere and the location of the hotel. We knew it was only 4 stars. We are a family of 4 and really loved the hotel. The hotel is spotless. The decor could be better but I think they are in the process of renovating some rooms. Our room overlooked the pool but was quiet. The aircon was fine as long as the card was left in the wall all day. The entertainment staff are lovely and there are lots of activities for the children in Sensiland. My children loved the pools and slides in Sensiland but there was no lifeguard available. The children enjoyed arts and crafts, the mermaid experience, painting their own bags and golf plus the open air cinema and the flower power party. The entertainment for the children is wonderful. One thing that we didn’t like - guests from other hotels were visiting Sensiland and no one was there to stop them. On a couple of occasions there were visitors that were not part of the hotel taking up sunbeds and the management were not aware. The hotel does not require any proof that you are from the hotel and wristbands are not given out. Therefore anyone can come into Sensiland. Sunbeds state that they are available to be reserved from 10am however all of the sunbeds around the main pool are gone by 9am. Sunbeds are available in Sensiland if you get there about 10am. I don’t want to get up early on holiday and rush to get a sunbed. That is not relaxing to me. The pool in the main area of the hotel is very, very deep. Again, a lifeguard was not present. The food was fantastic. Although, not a huge selection, all the food that is available is excellent. They have a different theme each night and we loved it all. My children loved lots of different things such as the Taco station, the pancake station, the fresh pasta station and the burger station. We did go out twice as the restaurants around the hotel are lovely too. The catering staff are lovely, very friendly but they are rushed off their feet. They do an excellent job. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of PalmaNova but next to the beach. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars within 2/3 minutes. It is the ideal location. Our flight home was late at night so we requested a late check out. This was unavailable however a shower room was provided. In previous hotels we have been to this has always been a hotel room where we can get ready. This shower room was basically just a shower room. It was tiny and extremely hot. Actually unbearable. This could have been far better. I would not recommend using the shower room if on a late flight. We would return to this hotel.

Really lovely hotel! I especially liked that even though we went in the middle of August, we never struggled to get a sun lounger. Really lovely hotel! I especially liked that even though we went in the middle of August, we never struggled to get a sun lounger. The staff were really good at enforcing the rule about not reserving them with towels before 10am, which made such a difference. The food was actually really good for half board. There was always something nice to eat and the snack bar did some lovely food too. The cocktails were amazing, and even the kids’ orange slushies were 10/10 😂. The whole hotel was absolutely spotless, including the rooms. We had a junior suite which was great, although I do wish the aircon was a bit more powerful. The location was great too! The only negatives for us were that there isn’t loads of adult entertainment in the evenings, and I think the kids’ mini disco would probably be better outside, although I do understand why it’s indoors as it’s much cooler. I was also really disappointed that we missed the white party. It was advertised as being on Tuesday but was changed on the day to the open-air cinema, which we’d already experienced a few days before. A bit more music around the pool wouldn’t have gone amiss either. Other than that, we really loved the hotel. My son is 4 and absolutely loved all the staff, they were so good with the kids and always happy to help us too. I’m sure we’ll be back! We also really appreciated the birthday message and treats, such a lovely touch! ❤️

“Nice But Disappointed”

We visited this hotel for the second time. We were taking our 5-year-old granddaughter on holiday. Our first visit there, when she was 3 yrs old, was good and enough for us to return; unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations. When we booked this trip, it wouldn't let us include breakfast. It said that we should speak to the hotel on arrival. When we got to the hotel, we were told that we couldn't book breakfast because the restaurant was fully booked. We enquired how they could have a restaurant that couldn't cater to the number of guests they have. The suggestion was that there were plenty of local eateries where we could get breakfast. The following morning I decided to speak to the people at the front desk. This time I was told that if I wanted breakfast, I should have booked it. I persisted, saying that on booking there was no option to include breakfast. I was then told it was because the restaurant was fully booked. My question was simple: "How can you accommodate 500 guests but not have space for them in your restaurant, especially as 500 people are not all going to be sitting down to eat at the same time, etc?" A phone call was eventually made to the restaurant, and amazingly, they were able to accommodate my granddaughter and me for a total of thirty euros; needless to say, it was cheaper to eat out. Room Type We had a pool facing family room (336), which was nice enough though a little tired. There were parts of the flooring which had started to indent, and the lino was cracking. The kitchenette area was decent enough, however, although you are provided with the basics, e.g. cups, saucers, pots and cutlery, it would have been nice if they provided a couple of basics like a few milk sachets, a toaster etc. Breakfast We only had breakfast once, and admittedly, the selection appeared to be quite good, varied, and all areas were clean. Additionally, to walk through the restaurant (en route to the pool), you are asked for your room number. I assumed this was so they could monitor who was having breakfast, but walking back from the pool through the restaurant, if I had wanted to, I could easily have sat down and had breakfast. No one checked to make sure that I didn't stop for something to eat. The Pool The main doors to the swimming pool do not open before 10 am, meaning that you are not supposed to reserve beds before this time, however, if you walk through the restaurant, you can gain access to the pool area and so long as it is NOT BEFORE 9 am, you are allowed to put towels down, BUT.....if you are not there when the Pool Attendant/Life Guard appears, they might remove your towels. I found this confusing, as on the one hand you can't access the area before 10 am but you are allowed from 9 am to put towels down. There appears to be a lack of consistency here. This makes a mockery of not opening the main doors before 10 am. The pool is decent enough, but if you're travelling with younger children, I would suggest going across the car park to the smaller but very good kids' water park, where there are water chutes, a small snack bar etc. Sunbeds I found the pool area to be very cramped, with sunbeds very (claustrophobically) close to each other. Clearly an attempt to allow as many as possible around the pool. Entertainment: The hotel provides a small animation/entertainment package, which was decent enough e.g. a kids mini disco, various poolside activities e.g. silent disco, face painting, juggling, candy floss etc. Fitness I was particularly disappointed with the gym area. The potential is there for a really good gym, but it was not well managed. There isn't a shortage of equipment, but what they do have is not particularly well looked after. They have a 4 Station Multi-Gym, which is falling apart: on one side, the weight stacks are falling off because the two guiding rods to keep them in place have come loose, making it an unsafe piece of equipment. The area is cleaned daily. Cleaniness Generally, the hotel is kept clean. The cleaning staff all seemed confident, and most (not all) appeared friendly and smiled. Outdoor Snack Bar I can only say good things about this area. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. In Conclusion: Whilst we would not return, I can see why others might, but I would strongly suggest doing your research beforehand.
