Just arrived home after 5 wonderful days In Magaluf at Sol Katmandu hotel and resort. After usually holidaying in Dubai I was a little worried it would be a bit rowdy and what I remember from my club 18-30 days. I was really pleasantly surprised! The hotel was so clean and welcoming. The theming was amazing, staff super friendly. There was 5 of us travelling, 2 adults and 2 children aged 2, 5 & 7. We had 2 interconnecting rooms with 3 beds in each room plus 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies. Whilst on the smaller side they were immaculately clean and provided us with a nice base for a few days. We had a cleaner visit every day who made the beds and provided fresh towels. We opted for half board when booking but upgraded on the 2nd day to all inclusive for €290 for 5 of us. We just felt this would be easier so the children could just help themselves to drinks/ food etc. The food was amazing! So much selection, really great options for hot and cold. Pudding selection was delicious, soft drinks included also. The waiting staff were so attentive and quick to clear tables so was always a clean and pleasant space to dine in. We enjoyed the live food stations and had an omelette for breakfast most mornings and enjoyed steak, Turkey and prawns of an evening. There was also a snack bar which you could get burgers/chips/ left over food from the buffet. We were really impressed with the food! There was so much entertainment. We used the splash park, soft play, VR rides, golf, pools, kids clubs and mini disco along with the evening entertainment. All were great quality! Once again everything was immaculately clean, well maintained and thoroughly enjoyable. As mentioned we had a fantastic time so 10/10 for sol katmanu. Just a couple of pointers to future travellers: - The pools are only open 10am-6pm, we have early risers so felt on the first few days we was waiting around for a couple of hours for something to do but you can walk the 5mins to the beach. After a few days we woke later so wasn’t as much of an issue. - No food around the pool, again we liked this as it kept it clean and tidy but just keep this in mind if your planning on snacking around the pool. - No large inflatables. Again this was for good reason as I can imagine it would be kaos in the peek months with to many inflatables but just don’t waste your money on huge inflatables as they will be removed from the pool. - The ‘park’ including the soft play, VR rides, upside down house etc are all only open between 10am-6pm also. Again we felt we would have liked to visit these places in the evening as a form of entertainment so we could enjoy the full day in the sunshine but just plan this into your day if you want to use them. - The splash park is only open between 12pm-6pm and every 1h 15m they let a new group of people in so make everyone pack up and leave even if your a hotel guest. I get it’s easier to remove everyone from the park but if your wanting to spend the day at the splash park to have to keep leaving is rather annoying. - Make sure you pack socks for the soft play - Mini disco is at 8.30 and evening entertainment starts at 9.30. Again this was a little late for us as our children were just so tired by this point but if your late risers and enjoy a later evening I’m sure this would fit into most people’s day’s absolutely fine. - The beach is literally a 5 min walk around the corner, really nice clean beach, warm water (even in early May) lots of bars and restaurants around, not rowdy and we felt fine walking around between 8/9pm with our kids. We didn’t go out later than this but we didn’t hear any noice from the bars late at night. - The kids club was amazing, right next to the pool area and you can just drop them into a session and then collect them again after a couple of hours. Just to note though there are two age categories so as our children ranger from 2-7 they were in different clubs. Same for the soft play. They couldn’t play together as they had different sections. - Pre book transfers! Getting a taxi for 5 people was near impossible and we ended up paying €60 euros to get the hotel (after a hard bargain!) and then €80 in two taxis back to the airport. I think if we had pre booked this it would have been cheaper and a lot easier to navigate. Enjoy your holiday! For a cheaper more affordable holiday we were really impressed with what we got. Just for reference we paid £1600 for 5 of us including half board and flights for 4 nights 5 days. We then paid to upgrade to all inclusive.

“Amazing resort!”

I really, really loved our stay. The resort is just fantastic. The theme park has lots of fun games you can play queues were pretty quick. The Upside Down house was joyous. We went twice and found things we missed the first time there's so much to see and do. The splash park had several slides which was great fun for my kid. The soft play was amazing- better than any I've paid for in England and my son went 3 times. The staff - from reception, kids club to theme park staff and cleaners were all wonderful, friendly and polite. The only small disappointment was that the cooked breakfast was often cold. This could easily be solved by having hot plates available and having covers for the food. I am recommending Sol Katmandu to all my friends with children ❤❤

lovely hotel enjoyed stay just few things people need to know firstly checking in was a nightmare not enough room for how people checking in waiting a hr to get key room was fine but dinner and lunch time the que for food is ridiculous defo need more organision but food was lovely everyday don't buy inflatable for pool just small ones aloud plus not aloud any music round pool which is disappointing entertainment was disappointing aswell we went out most night as not enough room for everyone to sit around and not very entertaining my older grandchildren 13 and 14 was board many nights but if got young children they would b tierd by evening time and have a early night all in all hotel lovely and clean and young kids will love it there is lots of shops and beach on door step which was good had lovely hoilday but won't b going back water park very small aswell not as big as I though

“Mixed bag...”

Good entertainment for younger ones - say 8 and under. Not so much to do for older kids. The park is good for an hour or two. Splash zone looks a lot bigger in the photos and is aimed at the younger ones. Food was average. Same stuff to eat breakfast, lunch & dinner despite them having 'themed ... more

Good entertainment for younger ones - say 8 and under. Not so much to do for older kids. The park is good for an hour or two. Splash zone looks a lot bigger in the photos and is aimed at the younger ones. Food was average. Same stuff to eat breakfast, lunch & dinner despite them having 'themed nights'. We ate out most lunch and dinner times. We're a family of 5 and were put in 2 separate rooms (no connecting door). Some staff serve you certain drinks on the All Inclusive whereas others tell you they're not included. Very central - close to Magaluf and Palma Nova beach - both of which are beautiful and we had some really nice meals down at Palma Nova beach. Not the hotel's fault but we had the same couple arrive home at 2.30am for 3 nights in a row, arguing for one reason another (yes, we heard it all!).... Amazes me that parents can drink till that hour in the morning when in a family resort with kids but hey ho. Would we visit again? No.
