This is an excellent hotel in a very good location. All the staff in reception, housekeeping and restaurant/bars are professional, hard working, helpful and friendly and go that extra mile in customer service. The bedroom was very well equipped ( although a kettle etc would have been a welcome bonus), the beds were very comfortable, there was adequate drawer and hanging space. The housekeeping staff were very diligent. The bathroom was very modern with a walk in shower and during the night if you used the bathroom a security light was triggered for 30 seconds. If you are visiting during the winter months the bedrooms facing the road offered full sun for most of the day, The restaurant was very good and maintained the customary high Riu standards. The main section could be quite noisy but if you go up the stairs there is a most pleasant additional seating area. There is a lounge with bar, stage and comfortable seating area. The entertainment (with the exception of the duo Versus who really brought the place alive) was a bit underwhelming but that is my personal taste. Reception staff were really attentive and Bibi in particular was very helpful. I do like to sunbathe and swim during my holiday. I was rather disappointed with the swimming pool and sunbathing terrace as the high trees shaded the area for a great deal of the day in November but I would think it will provide welcome shade in the summer months. Tips ;- No 25 bus runs to the Cathedral and the stop for this is 100 yards away - turn right from the hotel entrance. No 23 bus runs to the city centre ( terminus is the station). Turn left outside the hotel and walk up to the main road. Stop is just past the chemist. A2 bus runs directly too and from the airport - the stop is 100 yards down from the hotel. I recommend a day trip on the train to Soller with a trip on the tram to Puerto Soller which costs 32 euros per person. . Would I return to the Festival, yes I would. I would also consider the Concordia or San Francisco during the winter months as their sun terraces are less shaded.

“Short holyday”

Everything was perfect except the location of the room because it was quite noisy. We could hear every neighboring bathroom activity. An unfortunate coincidence :) We will ask for another room next time!

We only picked this hotel for it’s location. What a lucky choice it was. The hotel stands out mainly because of the cheery and helpful staff. Every member of staff greets you with a smile, and the reception team are super-helpful. Just brilliant people right through the place. I wish all holiday hotels had staff like this. I think we may have been the only English guests, and we were made very welcome. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The food is consistently good, and the restaurant staff are attentive. Mealtimes can be a bit chaotic, but this is more to do with some international guests’ inability to grasp the concept of queuing for food. Entertainment seems to be every other night. It is of a good standard and appeals to the more mature audience. There are reasons for four stars, not five. The wi-fi in my room was hit and miss. The corridors are uncarpeted, and you can hear the doors bang shut at all hours. I don’t know if it was the location of our room, but there is the constant noise of toilets flushing, seemingly from several rooms/floors. If your room is on our side of the hotel, the balcony does not get any sun. Aside from that, the hotel was a great find, and a useful base to explore Palma and other areas. As for the locality, the entire area is aimed at German customers. Every bar, every restaurant, every shop and supermarket. We rarely heard an English voice, and enjoyed the whole experience
