“Fabuloolìous”

When we arrived the guy at reception was amazing . Victor. He was lovely all through our stay. The staff were fabuloolìous and the cleaners were lovely . Fabulous place will book again faultless tbh the guy doing the entertainment was lovely. He was sad we were leaving

Excellent experience overall. Room was very clean and comfortable with amazing views from the balcony. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The food and the drinks were all first class with variety at both breakfast and evening meal. The pool was great and very quiet which is what we like. Los Abrigos was about 10 minutes walk north along the coast and is a small, authentic Canarian port with lots of charm. The hotel itself needs a little TLC but that’s just the buildings. Highly recommended.

“Nice stay but not up to 4* standard”

We came for a long weekend stay and had a lovely holiday, however we are glad we only stayed for 3 nights. The staff absolutely make this hotel. Every one has been incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially Isaac the entertainer. The buffet is small so not many options however we aren’t fussy so always found something to eat. However if you have a severe nut allergy I think you would struggle as they even had peanuts on offer for breakfast. If we stayed for longer we would have likely eaten out as the food is very similar for lunch and dinner every day. One thing which is incredibly annoying is for lunch and dinner you aren’t able to get your own drinks including water. One night we were ignored completely and had to go to the bar to get our own drinks to bring into the buffet hall. Usually at hotels I’ve been to they have a water fountain to refill bottles, however this hotel gives you plastic bottles each time you want a water - this is so bad for the environment! They really should consider water fountains so people can just use one bottle for the whole holiday. This would save so much plastic usage! Even though you pay for all inclusive, not everything is included (bar snacks, drinks etc). On the day of departure they also cut off your all inclusive band when you check out (12pm) so bear in mind if you are staying around on your last day. We stocked up on bottles of water so we could have drinks for the additional 4 hours we were here before our transfer picked us up. On the surface the hotel appears clean and fresh, however it is in real need of some TLC. We saw so many people fall over going to the upstairs terrace because of the worn wooden stairs. The pool cleanliness is something to be desired, we saw a couple spill a drink and for the rest of the holiday ants were covering that area, meaning the poolside hadn’t been washed down in the days we were there. There were also lots of tiny termite bugs in the hotel room, and after speaking to other guests seemed that our room wasn’t the only one to have them there. The hotel overall seems to be on a tight budget. The entertainment clearly had a lack of budget, a couple nights they had live singers in the background but otherwise Isaac tried his best with a quiz and bingo. There are a few Irish bars just down from the hotel however. I wouldn’t recommend to book this hotel, however if you have already booked you’ll have a nice time just manage your expectations. If it was a 3* hotel I’d be happy but as it’s classed as 4* it isn’t up to standards.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in late April - 2 of us. I booked a room with a sea view then emailed the hotel separately to ask for twin beds as travelling with my sister so didn’t want to have to share a double. The hotel emailed back quickly to say they would make a note of that. On arrival we were seen quickly at the reception and checked in - you have to provide a credit or debit card in case of any room damages - luckily we had one. We were given a room on the 6th floor, the room was clean but could do with some TLC, mainly the patio doors. The day we arrived was really windy, and on entering the room you could really hear the wind through the doors, we made sure they were properly closed and the noise was still loud and was a high pitched whistle (it sounded like a tea kettle) so I took a video and went back down to reception, I explained to the lady and she said to shut the doors - told her they were shut (that was the first thing we did) and showed her the video. She got the manager, he came out and sorted us another room higher up in the hotel and further round, when we went in, they had given us a 2 bed apartment with a separate lounge area. This room was obviously a lot nicer than our original room and it didn’t whistle! The TV wouldn’t turn off though, and the English channels didn’t work so we ended up unplugging it and watched any TV on our phones instead. The room was clean, but a bit dated, scuffed walls and wallpaper etc The pool area was clean enough, but not massive. It was ok for us as the hotel was quiet but I can imagine you would struggle for sunbeds in peak times. Food We were half board, breakfast was ok with stuff for a full English and pastries, cereal etc Evening meal however wasn’t great, there wasn’t that much selection and we struggled to find stuff really. We ended up eating out more than eating in. You also don’t get a drink with your evening meal if you are half board, which I have never heard of before, you usually get at least one drink, and we only ordered a soft drink or water so it wasn’t like we wanted alcohol. On the whole the hotel is cheap and cheerful, but could do with some TLC. There are some nice restaurants nearby should you want to eat out and are reasonably priced. The rooms also have a small fridge and kettle that come in handy, If I was to stay here again I would pay a bit more for the better rooms. The staff were all nice enough too.
