This hotel is better than we expected! We arrived at dusk when the hotel had all the external lights on, and it looked absolutely beautiful! The receptionist greeted us with humour and warmth and continued to be helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and had a brilliant view of the gorgeous main pool. There was a nudist sunbathing area on the roof right next to us which we didn't use, but I can imagine it would be great if you enjoy nude sunbathing. The pools are all very clean and had plenty of space around them with many sun loungers. The two jacuzzi were warm and clean. The whole complex was spotless every single day. We could see staff sweeping and cleaning every morning to make it look stunning. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with enough variety for all. We thought the food was cooked well and was topped up very fast. The staff were really eagle eyed - as soon as you were done with your plate/ table, they were straight on it, tidying away for the next person. You never saw tables with dirty dishes on. The cutlery and plates were all really shiny with no water marks. We didn't watch the entertainment, but each time we walked past, it sounded good and had a lot of people watching and dancing. The lunch menu was great, and the food was high quality. The service was fast and friendly. No complaints! All in all we had a fantastic time here and can't recommend it enough!!! The only issue you may have is if you want to walk into town. It's about 15 minutes downhill and a 20-25 minute walk back, depending on your fitness (or a 5-8e) taxi ride.

The hotel is a gem. We talked to other guests who have been visiting for many years now. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The hotel is pretty contained; you could stay there and not leave. The pools were nice and there were various options for the buffet dinner served at the restaurant on-site. There were also many options for breakfast which was packed with guests. We took the shuttle to and from the local mall. The area was very quaint and much different from the south of Tenerife. This area has. beautiful architecture. The black-sanded beach was like a 20 minute walk from the hotel. It was difficult finding the hotel as we took a bus from Santa Cruz. Also, a hiccup was when we were leaving early in the morning around 6:30; check out was way too long. The desk staffer kept saying that we had "drinks", but we only had dinner one night at the hotel for 15 euros, each. It took a while to settle the bill as were trying to get a taxi to the bus station. It was clear that some of the hotel staffers weren't used to Americans; we were the only Americans there during our stay, but it was still a good stay.

“Very noisy room and below standard restaurant.”

Hotel is clean, well appointed and staff generally quite efficient and helpful. On arrival the receptionist could not find my booking and stated that they were fully booked. This was my first impression of the hotel and not reassuring. The booking was eventually found. The hotel is situated on a hill next to a busy road, one of the main roads into and out of Puerto de la Cruz. The town is not easily accessed by foot as you will need to walk up and down alleys and lanes from the hotel. The hotel is well away from the resort and I mainly used the local buses (Titsa) to get in and out of Puerto de la Cruz. My room (217) and balcony were about 20m from the busy road with cars buses and trucks going past day and night. My room was also next to the metal fire escape and guests used this as a shortcut to the restaurant and I felt there was no privacy on the balcony. The buffet restaurant was very chaotic and the quality of food was not what I expect from a 4 star hotel. I have had much better quality in other 3 and 4 star establishments. The balcony did not have a clothes rack for drying shorts and beach towels. I will not return to this hotel mainly because of its location and the poor quality of the restaurant.
