“Excellent but evening entertainment should be inside!!”

We've just returned from the Ambassador Playa 1, our 3rd time. It is a lovely hotel, very clean, staff are very friendly and it is definitly worth paying the extra £2 + to include lunch. The food is really good and varied. The lifts are reliable too. The Explorers Bar is great for evening music. Our only grumble is that the main evening entertainment was held outside after our 3rd night. We were cold and had to wear our jackets and trousers. Even after rain finished one evening at 7.45 it was still outside with only a handful of customers and another evening the rain actually began just before 7.45 - outside again. The entertainers had very few people watching. As many hotel guests are older people this is very inconsiderate. The Explorers bar is great but can be extremely noisy. Mid May is far too early to be outside getting chilled being outside waiting for the 3 acts booked!!

“Another great stay”

Just back from 5 nights, stayed half board and found the food great, always plenty of choice so never went hungry, rooms were lovely and cleaned everyday, paid extra for a pool view room and well worth it as we had the sun on the balcony all afternoon, never heard any noise from the strip once the … more

Just back from 5 nights, stayed half board and found the food great, always plenty of choice so never went hungry, rooms were lovely and cleaned everyday, paid extra for a pool view room and well worth it as we had the sun on the balcony all afternoon, never heard any noise from the strip once the balcony doors were shut, didn’t use the pool area as went on the beach, all the staff I came into contact with were lovely and always said hello, looking forward to going back September ❤️

“Pool access”

Can anyone tell me if there is strps to walk into the pool please? As I can not do the ladders with broken dislocated shoulder

We have been to the Ambassador 11 before but never Ambassador 1, we have been to Benidorm many times, we stayed for two weeks. We arrived mid morning and we travelled with easy jet, it was a good flight and journey here, we were given a room straight away no messing about, our room 1628 was the farthest away from reception and the hotel restaurant, we do have walking mobility problems but the room was so nice and quiet we decided to settle in and enjoy our holiday here! We stayed Half Board, the food in the Hotel was ok there were some good meals to be had but some days it was just hotel food, the price of the wine in the restaurant was good but we could never get the same bottle of wine twice? we like a drink and took full advantage of Happy Hour and the entertainment but we had seen most of the entertainers before but we expected that, The weather was not that good the first week but that did not worry us we were having a nice time! The second week was a disaster for us my husband who is a photographer had his holiday travel camera stolen from the time of leaving the room to the road outside the camera was not in his bag for his first picture, he must have left the camera in the room he went back straight away the room which had been cleaned quite quickly there was no sign of his Nikon Camera it had gone, now how was that possible? he was very upset he had the camera for a very long time and it had travelled all over the world with him! We reported the loss to the reception who simple said impossible, we also reported it to the Police who were very understanding and nice to us! the pictures on the camera were not just ordinary holiday snaps they were taken for a reason, the camera was was not just a ordinary point and shoot camera in its day it was a high quality travel type camera to be used by someone who understood cameras and photography and take the sort of pictures that travel photographers take. This incident spoilt our holiday and we were both very upset about it! all we wanted now was to go home, we are both in our 80s and very worried of how this could have happened or was we being watched by someone! We are now back home checking all our travel insurance details out!
