The hotel itself is 4 star, the room was good - big balcony. Reception and bar all good. Outside could be really nice but for about 9 days out of 14 workmen were making lots of noise trying to get up the top layer of the patio. We came for relaxation but this was awful. Beautiful pool, very cold the first week but better the second. Food was OK but not 4 star. Staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful.

“Honest review – great staff and cleanliness, but too quiet for us”

We stayed at Hotel RH Ifach as a family: a couple aged 38 and 43, with our 13-year-old child. This is a very honest review based on our personal experience. First of all, the staff were absolutely excellent. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful, professional and quick to assist. They always served us with a smile, and the fact that they spoke good English made everything much easier. This was one of the strongest points of the hotel. The cleanliness was also outstanding. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, and the hotel was kept very clean. In this area, I would give the hotel 5 stars without hesitation. The hotel itself generally lives up to its 4-star category quite well, especially in terms of service, cleanliness and overall organisation. The location is also very good, close to the beach and with the famous Peñón de Ifach nearby, which is definitely a nice advantage. However, there were also some things that disappointed us. The biggest issue for us was the atmosphere and entertainment. During our stay, the majority of guests seemed to be either elderly people, mostly over 70, or families with very small children. Around 90% of the guests appeared to be British. The evening entertainment matched that type of audience: either aimed at very young children, probably under 5 years old, or more suitable for older guests. For us, and especially with a 13-year-old child, it was honestly very boring in the evenings. There was not much to do in the hotel after dinner. So if you are looking for a very calm and quiet holiday, this hotel can be a good choice. But if you want more fun, a livelier atmosphere, better evening entertainment, or something more interesting for teenagers, I would recommend looking for another hotel. We booked a Premium room, but the bathroom did not feel premium at all. The room was acceptable, but the bathroom looked tired. Some tiles were cracked, and overall it felt more like a 3-star bathroom than a 4-star one. It definitely needs renovation. Another small but annoying issue was the lifts. There were four lifts, but we often had to wait quite a long time, especially during busy hours. The food was okay. There was enough food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the selection was not very big. I would rate the food somewhere between 3+ and 4 out of 5. It was not bad, and we never felt hungry, but it was not something special either. One important thing to know: if you book half board or full board, but not all inclusive, drinks are not included. You have to pay for drinks every time, including water. The prices felt very expensive for what they were. For example, a Coca-Cola was €3.20, a bottle of water was €2.80, and a sangria was around €8. In my opinion, that is too much, especially when you have already paid for meals. The swimming pool was cold when we stayed there, but I do not blame the hotel for that. It was mainly due to the weather at the time. Overall, there were many good things: excellent staff, very good cleaning, a nice location and a generally well-managed hotel. But for us, something important was missing. The hotel lacked energy, atmosphere and entertainment. It was simply too quiet and too boring for our family. I would recommend this hotel to older guests, couples who want a peaceful stay, or families with very small children. But for families with older children or people looking for a more lively holiday, I would probably choose a different hotel next time.

We booked this hotel, having read mostly positive reviews, and we had stayed before, but on this occasion we were disappointed. The staff are lovely people, kind and attentive. The bedroom was large, with two queen size beds. Large bathroom, but unfortunately nowhere to hang clothes. The standard of house-keeping was good. A very pleasant, large pool area, with plenty of sun beds. Also a nice terrace area with attentive staff. Sadly, this is all rather let down by the dining experience. The food was nowhere-near hot enough and tended to be devoid of taste, particularly vegetables – “frying” frequently described as “grilling”. On several occasions our chicken was undercooked – dangerous! At breakfast, a large, open bowl of porridge was placed exactly where guests wait for eggs to be fried (also conveniently at child coughing-sneezing height. Unbelievable! Food on offer was not replenished speedily enough, and sometimes not at all. Plates stacked, again, at child height. Allowing them to run hands across the tops of every one on the shelf. – we witnessed this repeatedly. Some food choices were unhygienically available at child height. For example I spotted a child grabbing a handful of sprinkled chocolate from one of the bowls, bypassing the spoons, cramming it into his mouth then enthusiastically repeating the process! It is a pity that, for us, meal times not at all enjoyable – the dining room was, at times, like a transport cafe! We shall not return!
