We were guests of Zeavola (pronounced Zivola) for almost two months. It is a paradise! What awaits you? Villas built in the typical style from fine natural wood. Open anteroom = living room. Large bedroom with 4-poster bed and mosquito net. Large bathroom with separate WC and separate shower. And everything in the style of the 50s and 60s. Everything has been recreated in the style of the time by an architect with a love of detail! The resort is located in one of the most beautiful bays in Thailand, with a wonderfully wide and bright sandy beach, with turquoise-green water (watch out for the tides!) in a former coconut plantation with old and new trees and plants. It is laid out like a village, some villas around the center, others on the beach, others on the hillside. No terraced house character. Other well-known luxury hotel groups also have typical resorts that are adapted to the original life in the regions and are ecologically sustainable. Many are also beautiful and very popular. These are also made with a lot of love - but much more expensive (I won't name names, I've been to a few over the years). For a 5 star resort, a spacious pool, spa and gym are a must. There are 2 restaurants (depending on the weather) beach restaurant or indoor restaurant and beach bar. However, if you are expecting gold, brass, marble, thick carpets and waiters in dinnerjackets, you are completely wrong here. Of course you have perfectly functioning air conditioning in the villa, of course you always have hot water. Of course you can make any request and it will be fulfilled. The friendliness is second to none. It's not just the land of smiles, it's also the resort of smiles. Some people complain that Zeavola is not a 5-star resort. 5-star hotels or resorts must offer the following: 24-hour concierge service, evening turn-down service, room service. Personalized greeting in the room (here framed photos of the guests on arrival. Further services are necessary: Car valet: arriving here by boat- which cars should he park here? Shoeshine, laundry service. Shoeshine is not necessary in a barefoot resort, but is available on request. Laundry is done lovingly and quickly. To summarize: one of the most beautiful bays we have ever been to. A resort built with a lot of flair in typical Thai style, fantastic water, wonderful warmth from the staff. Perfect organization by Lion, the German general manager and his helpers. Special mention should be made of Satya, the head chef, who cooks brilliantly, especially when it comes to typical Thai and Asian dishes. He also fulfills special requests. The cuisine is of a high standard at surprisingly reasonable prices. Tik, the food and beverage manager, has his eyes everywhere and lends a hand. His warmth, as well as the warmth of his assistant manager Nico, is second to none. The massages in the SPA are absolutely brilliant (surprisingly inexpensive by international standards). Effective, perfectly trained. Always a smile. The beach service (often criticized) has changed to "perfect" in our time. A little reminder: tip in cash. Special mention should also be made of Layla from the breakfast service. Very pregnant but always on hand and a convincing smile. If you have a health problem, there is the perfect nurse service. The ladies are perfectly trained and know their job. Highly effective! Anyone who knows Thailand knows that Thai people love noise: longtail boats are sometimes very loud, at the weekly fire show at the next hotel (actually quite far away) the volume is set to "full power" - lasts three quarters of an hour, then over (not every day). As there are no roads, the transportation route is the beach, the means of transport is the tractor: sometimes loud, but as not very often completely bearable. The advantage of this bay: only a few day tourists, who otherwise flock to the beaches on PHI PHI Island. If you can't cope with the Thai way of life, you shouldn't go to Thailand. If you want marble and gold, you shouldn't go to a resort where originality (coupled with luxury) is a high priority. For us, it is paradise. We have already booked for next year. I can see the general manager has to explain to some guests just what this place is about, I can say myself I have never felt so relaxed after a holiday. Excellent food, wonderful friendly and helpful staff, a great Spa. All in all it's really great. Yes there are mosquitos, lizards, frogs all sorts. You just need to make sure you close the door to your hut, I was bitten twice by mozzies, and stayed there 6 nights. It's wonderful, trust me. Go. Thank you Lion and the team, especially Boss, also the boat crew. Superb!

Absolutely amazing stay. They describe themselves as barefoot luxury which is is completely apt (unless its so hot you can't walk on the sand barefoot!) The sea and beach were lovely. This place is incredible!! A total luxury experience while experiencing nature firsthand. Indoor / outdoor living. Incredibly nice and accommodating staff, and lovely spa and adventure services! 10/10
