There are hotels you forget a few weeks after leaving. And then there are places that stay with you long after your journey ends. Mantra Samui Resort is one of those rare places. We arrived in Thailand on April 14th. Our original plan was to stay for 60 days, but we even extended our visa to 90 days because we simply didn’t want to leave. We travel all over the world and almost always choose five-star hotels. We’ve experienced luxury resorts, exceptional service, and breathtaking destinations. Yet Mantra Samui Resort still managed to surprise us. The first thing that takes your breath away is the view. No matter how many times you see it, it never gets old. The floor-to-ceiling glass rooms, spacious balconies, and endless ocean create a feeling that is difficult to describe. Every time we returned to our room, it felt like walking into a postcard. Sitting on the balcony in the evening, watching the sea, became one of the highlights of our entire stay. I’m not someone who usually talks about “energy,” but this place truly has something special. The infinity Sky Pool offers exactly the same unforgettable feeling. It’s one of those places where time simply slows down. During our stay, the pool unfortunately experienced a technical issue. And that was the moment when we discovered the true quality of this hotel. Not because problems happen—they can happen anywhere. But because of how the management handled it. We immediately received a personal letter explaining the situation. Every staff member knew exactly how to communicate with guests. We watched technicians working day and night to solve the problem as quickly as possible. There were no excuses—only action. The hotel also arranged complimentary access to another luxury beachfront resort with a swimming pool, provided a shuttle service, and offered a very generous daily credit that could be used in the restaurant and spa. Honestly, we were impressed by how generous the compensation was. It was obvious that, for the owners, guests are not reservation numbers—they are people whose experience truly matters. That level of care is rare. Breakfast was outstanding every single morning. Fresh fruit, excellent food, plenty of choice, and once again, that incredible panoramic view that makes every day start with a smile. The resort is beautifully built into the hillside, giving almost every location an amazing ocean view. And if you don’t feel like walking, a buggy takes you anywhere within seconds. Finally, the most important part… The people. As a business owner myself, I know how difficult it is to build an outstanding team. Here, they have achieved exactly that. Every single employee was genuinely kind, smiling, professional, and attentive. Nothing felt forced. If you wanted to chat, they happily talked with you. If you preferred privacy, they respected it immediately. That is what true five-star hospitality looks like. For us, this is a well-deserved 10 out of 10. And perhaps the strongest recommendation of all… Before our stay had even ended, we had already decided to return next year for another three months. We believe that says everything. We stayed at this beautiful hotel in Ko Samui for 10 days and, along with our daughters, enjoyed two wonderful Ocean View Suites with a unique view. The hotel is perched on a hillside and is therefore located somewhat away from the center and the beaches. However, it takes about 10–15 minutes by car to reach the center of Boput or one of the nearby beaches. Unfortunately, during our stay, the beautiful pool was closed for repairs and therefore unavailable, which was really a huge drawback. Especially since the hotel isn’t right on the beach, and that was one of the reasons we’d chosen this hotel in the first place—because of its great pool. However, because of this, the hotel had made an arrangement with another hotel located right on the beach so that we could use their facilities as a substitute while the pool was unavailable. We were able to take a free shuttle to that hotel every day, and they would pick us up again afterward. All the staff at this hotel were always super friendly and went out of their way to keep their guests happy. The only real complaint we have is the long wait times for orders at the restaurant. Everything moves much too slowly. Especially when it comes to drinks and the wait times for coffee every morning—these were far too long every single day.
