First impressions, random, little green door beside a McDonald's.. once you're in reception feels in another world. Ultra modern, relaxing spa retreat. Keep walking around through to the accomodation and then have a surreal experience, a Buddha statue with water feature on the right as you pass over stepping stones... Entire glass back wall of the Mc.Donalds on the left. Once past here feel like in another world, no noise, disturbances or signs there's anything else happening outside the walls of the hotel. Peaceful and quiet. Don't let the photos of the green pool fool you, simply green tiles, water is very clean. Great nights sleep, all standard modern necessities. When we visited September 2025 roadworks a short walk down the road towards the giant gold Buddha, so had to walk along the beach. Also in the opposite direction a great brunch place cafe K.O.B.

“I’ll be back!”

Lovely tranquil spot with really lovely helpful staff. Seemed never to Be busy around the small pool and the sun loungers were in good condition. Amazing sunsets at the end of your day. Oddly, their bar only opened one day during my 6 day stay, but there’s a 7/11 over the road if you need drinks.… more

Lovely tranquil spot with really lovely helpful staff. Seemed never to Be busy around the small pool and the sun loungers were in good condition. Amazing sunsets at the end of your day. Oddly, their bar only opened one day during my 6 day stay, but there’s a 7/11 over the road if you need drinks. And a fridge in your room. There’s no breakfast served, I suggest you try the coffee cup cafe, out the door of hotel and turn right, you will find this gem on the other side of the street. About 3 minutes walk. They do lovely coffee and breakfast, but during the day, their Thai dishes are amazing , wish they opened for dinner at night. The room was clean and comfortable , bed firm but not in a bad way. Spacious and fantastic AC. My only complaint really is that the shower is just an electric unit and you don’t get a strong flow, however, it’s in no way a deal breaker. There has been mention of the McDonalds which is beside the hotel. I can tell you that this in no way affects your stay here, you don’t hear or smell It. It’s a non issue. I would definitely use the hotel if I return to the area. I did find myself popping along to fisherman’s village at night in bhat busses or taxis , just for a bit more life, however there are plenty eating places right handy. I leave tomorrow and I’ll be sad to go.

After staying for nine nights at Punnpreeda Beach Resort, we felt that three nights would probably have been enough. The hotel attracts many short-stay guests due to its convenient location near the piers for island-hopping trips. The property itself feels like an older relic sitting amongst some much more modern neighbouring hotels. However, the warm and professional service from the staff goes a long way toward making up for the ageing facilities. We stayed in a Deluxe Villa with Sea View (although the sea view was only really visible if you sat sideways on the balcony). The room was dated but clean and comfortable, with very good quality bedding and towels. The terrace was useful, particularly when sheltering from the regular afternoon rain showers, although the hard wooden seating is extremely uncomfortable and could easily be improved. The hotel is surrounded by vegetation and some stagnant water in old fountains, which unfortunately attracts mosquitoes. Some evening mosquito control would greatly improve guest comfort. The pool area is well maintained and offers lovely views over the beach and sea. The hotel provides accommodation only, with no bar or restaurant. However, a 7-Eleven about 100 metres away makes it easy to buy drinks and store them in the room fridge. There are also a few nearby cafés, small eateries, and friendly bars, although Bangrak is generally a laid-back and quiet area. Despite the hotel’s age, the friendly and attentive staff helped make our stay an enjoyable one.
