We chose The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui for our honeymoon, and it proved to be the perfect place to celebrate the start of married life. Set amongst lush tropical gardens with breathtaking views across the Gulf of Thailand, the resort combines understated luxury with the warm, genuine hospitality that Thailand is so well known for. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Every member of staff greeted us with genuine smiles and went above and beyond to ensure our honeymoon was as special as possible. The service throughout our stay was exceptional and truly deserving of the Ritz-Carlton name. We stayed in a private villa with its own pool, and it was simply stunning. Beautifully designed, immaculately maintained and incredibly private, it quickly became our little sanctuary. There was nothing better than starting the day with a swim in our own pool before relaxing on the terrace overlooking the tropical surroundings. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, from the luxurious bathroom to the incredibly comfortable bed, making it the perfect romantic retreat. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of places to relax, whether by one of the pools, on the private beach, or simply wandering through the beautifully landscaped grounds. The famous ocean swimming pool is unlike anything we’ve experienced before and was one of the highlights of our stay. The food throughout the resort was excellent. Every meal was beautifully presented, the quality was outstanding, and there was a fantastic selection of both Thai and international cuisine. Breakfast, in particular, was superb and offered one of the best selections we’ve experienced. The only downside was the cost of dining. While the food absolutely matched the quality you’d expect from a luxury resort, prices were understandably high. As a result, we chose to venture out most evenings to Fisherman’s Village, where there is a fantastic choice of restaurants offering delicious food at much more affordable prices. It’s worth noting that the village is a fair distance from the resort, so you’ll usually need to arrange transport. A particularly useful discovery was the local 7-Eleven, which is just a short walk from the resort. It was perfect for picking up drinks, snacks and other essentials without paying resort prices, and we found ourselves popping there several times during our stay. The spa was another highlight. The peaceful setting, skilled therapists and calming atmosphere left us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. It was the perfect way to unwind during our honeymoon. What really makes The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui stand out is its atmosphere. Despite being an ultra-luxury resort, it never felt formal or intimidating. Instead, it felt peaceful, welcoming and genuinely relaxing. The staff clearly take enormous pride in delivering exceptional service, and that warmth shines through in every interaction. If you’re looking for a luxurious honeymoon destination where you can completely switch off and be looked after, The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui is a wonderful choice. We’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic escape, and we left with memories that will stay with us forever. Main lobby was under renovation during our stay. Breakfast was decent with good vegetarian options. Although there needs to be option to dine in an air conditioned room. The breakfast area was too hot you sweat while eating so it’s uncomfortable. Rooms were good with good amenities. Staff very friendly. Onsite restaurants also good. Main pool area sometimes gets crowded.

“5 star stress experience”

Nice rooms, beautiful resort...biggest problem service is 3/4 star. A lot of mis communication, basic things as rooms service orders they get wrong. Ordering at the pool the food takes to long to arrive. Pool always full, limited sunbeds, when traveling to a resort and spending your precious time… more

Nice rooms, beautiful resort...biggest problem service is 3/4 star. A lot of mis communication, basic things as rooms service orders they get wrong. Ordering at the pool the food takes to long to arrive. Pool always full, limited sunbeds, when traveling to a resort and spending your precious time the last thing you want is stressing over sunbeds We stayed at banyan tree 3 years back the service level there is 10 times better than here. If we come back To samui we will definitely go to banyan tree and never the ritz Carlton anymore.
