We spent 5 nights here, and will definitely be back! The accommodation was great, with amazing views. Everything was presented beautifully and clean. Plenty of space in the rooms, with your own balcony looking out to the ocean. We opted to have breakfast brought to our terrace each morning, but you can choose to eat in the restaurant if you prefer. Each terrace is very private, and you are not looking in to anyone else's terrace as they are positioned in various spots up the hill. We ate most of our meals at the resort restaurant during our stay. The food and the service is faultless, with a large amount of choices on the menu. There's not really anything nearby that you can walk to, but there's plenty to do that's just a quick drive away. The resort staff were more than happy to take us where we needed to go (for a minimal cost) or organise a reliable taxi. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Feeling very relaxed after our stay.

The food and the service were always great. The only downside is that you will always need to use transportation to get to Krabi town, because it's not within reach by walking.

“Beautiful resort, great service--a little far from the "action"”

We spent 4 nights here at the end of our multi-city Thailand vacation. Overall, we had a very nice stay due to the excellent service and the value for money. However, we booked this through Airbnb, so our expectations were exceeded in some respects because it is definitely a step above typical airbnb locations. However, if you are looking for a true luxury resort stay with all the amenities, your expectations may not be met. This is a solid moderate resort. LOCATION: Khaothong Terrace Resort is not located in Krabi Town proper. On the plus side, the location is quiet without the throngs of tourists and garish beach town feel. With that being said, it does feel a little too far away from "the action". There isn't a convenient way to get to the town unless you get a taxi or hire a motorbike (like we did) for a 20 minute ride each way. We enjoyed taking a motorbike and the staff was super helpful getting it for us--it arrived gassed and ready to go at the resort. If you book any tours through the town (we did a private boat tour of Phi Phi Island), they will most likely not come pick you up (and many people exclaimed how far we were). It really isn't all that far, but it will take extra planning to go places where there are things to do, since there isn't much in the area. The resort is also right off the road, there is a view of the ocean for sunset, which is great, but you are not right on the beach. AMENITIES: There is a fantastic restaurant right on the premise, which is where we ate every night. The ambiance is great and everything is well priced. Breakfast is included and you can order it to be delivered right to your room. I noticed a photo of a pool in other traveler photos, but I must have missed it because I did not see a pool on property. If there was one, I will be super bummed because one of my critiques of the resort would be that there isn't much to do. At an actual resort, you could opt to have a "relaxation day"--sit by the pool, have some drinks, grab a bit to eat, etc. But I felt like we had to have a plan every day because hanging out at the Airbnb wasn't really an option; and we had intended for this to be the "nothing planned" part of our trip. The property itself is very nice, and worth staying at, just something to consider and manage expectations that this is not a resort with a pool or gym or other recreational activities (which we had expected because, again, we were expecting an Airbnb instead of a resort). ROOMS: The rooms were beautiful and one of the main reasons why we booked when we saw them on Airbnb. They are spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. You can get sheets changed and new towels every day. The AC works very well (important when you are in Thailand) and the rainfall shower is very nice. We had originally booked Terrace #1 through Airbnb, but were later moved to Terrace #3, which is much better. Terrace #1 is situated on the walking path to the other two terraces, so anyone walking to their terrace will walk right past your huge front facing windows. Curtains are provided, of course, but I love to have natural light and a clear view of the water, so we much preferred #3. Number #2 was also situated far enough away that you couldn't see in the front. SERVICE: The service is OUTSTANDING!!! I saw this echoed in many reviews before booking, and this was one of the main reasons why I wanted to stay here. And they didn't disappoint. They were warm and friendly, but even more than that, incredibly helpful. You will get to know the entire team here, since they all do everything, which adds to the family feel that makes me sometimes prefer Airbnbs or boutique hotels over large chain hotels. If you need any advice on tours or want to book anything, this team will help get you set up. I knew I wanted to go island hopping, but there are so many islands I was overwhelmed. They knew which islands would best suit our preferences and would also make sense logistically. We spent 2 days with a private charter long tail boat--one that we booked through the resort and one that we booked through a tour company in Krabi Town. The one we booked through the resort was half the price as the one in Krabi, came with delicious lunch and fruit provided by the resort, and went to deserted beaches instead of ones packed with tourists. OVERALL: We really enjoyed our time at this resort--the staff was amazing, the property was beautiful, and the food was delicious. However, I would have preferred for it to be a little closer to the town since there wasn't anything else in the area; the street didn't even provide an interesting walk. The lack of resort amenities meant you did need to travel to the town for any kind of recreation. But, especially for the price, this is a great choice for a beautiful stay away from the throng!
