This is a lovely resort, but the people really make it special. Rooms are beautiful, so is food and service. We really felt special there. But the best was that they do go beyond what anyone would expect: i left some valuable earrings in the safe. They found them, put them into safe keeping. And then tried everything to assist us getting those back to Australia (which proved quite difficult). There was no reason for them to do this, but their kindness and honesty. i do hope they continue having guests and people support this hotel after the Coronavirus has passed and people go out and about again.

“Excellent hotel. Great location. Good price.”

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days in April 2019 in one of the villas with Balinese shower and plunge pool. The room was excellent. The Balinese shower, bath tub and plunge pool were well maintained. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days in April 2019 in one of the villas with Balinese shower and plunge pool. The room was excellent. The Balinese shower, bath tub and plunge pool were well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was a challenge as we don't eat sea food. But overall, the food was fine. The hotel is actually a part of a residential villa community and situated on a hill top. There are golf carts to take you up and down the winding road from reception to the room. We had the sea facing room with exquisite views of the sea. Surin beach is walking distance, just across the road from the hotel. It's a clean, nice and quiet beach with not much activity. It's an excellent beach to while away your time in the sea and walk on the beach. Hotel runs shuttle service to nearby beach club. it was a very nice club with great beach, good food and excellent ambience. Overall, an excellent place for a memorable Thai holiday.

“Brilliant Hotel”

So glad we chose this hotel. First point is the staff, nothing is too much trouble, always with a smile. I can truly say the service from all of the staff is of the highest level. So glad we chose this hotel. First point is the staff, nothing is too much trouble, always with a smile. I can truly say the service from all of the staff is of the highest level. The rooms/Villas are very spacious and very clean. The views from the balconies are quite something. The hotel is close enough to the beach and all the restaurants to walk or the hotel offers a buggy service to get to the beach if you prefer. The bar and restaurant is excellent and the food is really good especially the variety on offer for breakfast. The hotel is able to book trips to places like Phi Phi island and the costs are charged directly to your room, first class service! This hotel simply does everything right. I can only recommend

“Beware construction next door!”

We arrived late at night and first impressions were good. After the normal check-in formalities we were taken to our room(810) and all was good. We woke in the morning to the sound of drilling and banging and I went to see what was going on only to find our view in the daylight of two massive crane… more

We arrived late at night and first impressions were good. After the normal check-in formalities we were taken to our room(810) and all was good. We woke in the morning to the sound of drilling and banging and I went to see what was going on only to find our view in the daylight of two massive cranes and a vast building site next to us!!!!! I checked the Ayara website in case I missed this, but no not a mention. The building works on further investigation (they have a sales centre next door) will be for 880 units with pools, shops and restaurants!!!!! After breakfast we asked to be moved away and we were moved away in the centre of the resort so you could no longer see the construction or cranes, and whilst quieter you could still hear the works taking place. As the room was not as booked (slightly lower) we were given a 4000 BHT credit on food. Pool - this is next to the building works but it also shielded you from the noise so it wasn’t a major issue for us, however I can’t imagine what it will be like when they start building upwards. The pool itself is great and the majority of the time we had it to ourselves. Service - I was overall disappointed as this is a 5* hotel but the service was lacking any enthusiasm. The pool was really lacking. They have padded covers for the sun beds that for some reason are hidden away at the back of the pool. The staff never once told guests or offered to get them, which meant guests were sitting on loungers that had no cover and must have been uncomfortable. Whilst you can order poolside you always had to get someone’s attention, they never proactively came round. That was really poor as it was like they really couldn’t be bothered. When drinks or food came it was fine. Breakfast- ok at best. We were here 9 days and it didn’t change once....same yogurt was plain or strawberry, 3 different meats and same cheese....no imagination at all. Area - lovely, quiet but plenty of places to eat and drink but you need to walk a little further down towards Bang Tao beach for it to be a little more lively. HQ Beach club - we went a couple of times and it was really good. Be warned that as it states you do only get a pillow and towel and if the sun beds are full (there were only about 16-20) you will be on the beach so you might as well hire a bed with a local beach vendor. Whilst the building work is not the hotels fault (there is a lot going on in this area) I felt they should either had advised us or block out the rooms next to the site. As I said our new room was fine. Whilst the new room was big with great views, it wouldn’t be enough for us to return to this hotel. Don’t get me wrong it’s fine and the staff are nice but just lacking something, and for the money paid there is better out there.
