Hotel is okay, but food could better (more fruits and olives) beach and pools are clean, room is nice. The animation team is really friendly and kind .

We had a mixed but overall enjoyable experience at Mahdia Beach & Aquapark Hotel. The hotel is quite far from the airport — our private transfer took around 1 hour and 40 minutes — and there is no ATM on the property or nearby, so we had to walk around 20 minutes each way to reach one. However, once inside the resort, everything is conveniently located, with the restaurants, pools, beach and rooms all within easy walking distance. The atmosphere was generally very good. The entertainment team around the pool were fantastic — organising games, dancing, talking to guests and keeping everyone entertained. My daughter especially loved the Kids Club, mini disco and shows and became very attached to some of the animators. There was always something happening, so the hotel never felt boring. The evening entertainment was adequate for us, although it could perhaps be improved. Unfortunately, some guests themselves negatively affected the atmosphere. One of the biggest problems was sun lounger reservation. People were leaving towels on loungers from the previous evening or arriving as early as 5 a.m. to reserve them. I think the hotel could improve this by removing unattended towels in the morning and reminding guests that sun loungers cannot simply be reserved for the whole day. There were also some situations where guests behaved in ways that were simply inconsiderate towards others and basic hygiene. For example, after a child vomited next to the pool, the parent rinsed her hands in the swimming pool rather than dealing with the situation appropriately. Situations like this are unpleasant and could be prevented or addressed by staff. There were also occasions where some parents seemed more interested in drinking than supervising their children. This is not something I would blame the hotel for, but I do think staff could be more proactive in addressing behaviour that affects other guests. Our renovated room looked modern, but the housekeeping was disappointing. Cleaning was very basic, even when we left 5 or 10 TND tips. The bedside table was dusty and greasy, the cups were not properly cleaned, the bathroom sink drained extremely slowly, and the floors around the room and shower remained sticky. We were also sometimes given only two towels despite there being three of us. It would also be nice to have at least one bottle of drinking water provided in the room, especially on arrival. The food selection was not huge, but what was available was generally good. We would have appreciated more fresh fruit, especially around the pool during the day. The drinks selection could also be improved. Personally, throughout the week I mainly drank Fanta, Sprite and coffee, as there were very few other options that I enjoyed. There was also not much specifically appealing for children in terms of drinks. The biggest positive was definitely the staff. They were genuinely friendly, welcoming and attentive. Their kindness did not feel forced, and we felt well looked after throughout our stay. My daughter particularly loved interacting with them. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday thanks to the wonderful staff, entertainment and facilities. However, housekeeping, some maintenance issues, the drinks selection and better control of certain guest behaviours could definitely be improved.

On the whole good depend what you want. This is not a uk 4* hotel. Pros: Communal areas are large and usually have aircon not always. Step straight onto the beach. The service team were great. Cons: yes the Aqua park is next door which also let in paying locals. Not always a good mix. With 2 teenage daughters they were being stared and and approached by the aqua park team. I had a word. Also cash less you enter through the exit next to the hotel. You are searched you can bring no refreshments or food in. Then need to go to the entrance to purchase a band. This is 5 Tunisian money. This ks given back after. You load it with money spend and then given back after. This needs to be clear to hotel guests. There is no information about this anywhere. Aqua park is ok. The locals do not know how to Que nicely so some more words were had. Hotel. Room was ok. Fairly up together. The bed was awful and pillows etc… the towel man will come in at 9am even if you are shouting no we're not ready. And we are a family of 4 they will only replace daily with 2/3 towels. For fed up of asking. Aircon did work and was very welcome. Pool at the hotel was really good. Loads of broken tiles but didn’t stop anyone using it. Could do with a really good clean. Swim up bar when you could get served was great. The music was on from 10am loud. Night club loud with mr dj and the animation team blowing whistles every few seconds. Didn’t need to be that loud. We like music and the choices was Tunisian and Eastern European heavy dance. Boom boom all day until 6pm. Pool closed as 6pm. All out. Food. Was ok. We all had travellers tummies. Food wasn’t very warm. However always choices. Bbq outside fresh cooked items. Pizza fresh or pasta. Local dishes and salads. If you want Biege food I.e chicken nuggets every night or full English breakfast you won’t eat. Experiment a little. Hotel was in need of some attention. The beach / sea was clear and warm. Best part of the holiday. There are a few small shops up the road but nothing else. The road is fun to cross. We walked half way up the beach to the start of town and found some more shops and an ice cream shop. Was nice. Then walked all the way round the cape and got a taxi back. Was about 6 miles up the beach in the heat. Taxi back was £2. Nothing really in town. Local food market few shops. That’s it. In all Tunisia was great. Hot but great. Sea was amazing if you could put up with the pool music near by. If you want peace and quiet this is not the hotel for you.
