One of the best hotels in Tunisia in its category. The hotel is modern and well maintained. It has a large parking and I was able to find a place easily each time I left the hotel to go to town. The rooms were spacious and decorated with taste. The food was amazing with a variety of choice combining International cuisine and local kitchen, and also using high quality such ad fish and seafood. There are three pools including one using saltwater. The staff members including reception, restaurant, security, pool and lifeguards, housekeeping are professional and very friendly. I find it a very good value for money and I definitely recommend it.

We stayed at the Hilton Skanes Monastir as a family of four for a week in August on a half-board basis. Overall, we’ve had a really enjoyable stay, but based on other 5-star hotels we’ve stayed in, I wouldn’t personally put this in the same category. It’s a good 4-star resort, with some areas that are genuinely good, but a few details that stop it feeling truly 5-star. The biggest positive for us has been the entertainment team, easily 5 stars. The foam party was excellent and the atmosphere around the hotel has been great. Our children absolutely loved the Kids Club, and a special mention has to go to Manou, who was fantastic with them. Her energy, entertainment and care really stood out and made a big difference to their holiday. The food has been a bit of a mixed bag. Breakfast is quite eclectic: part continental with a strong French influence (oh the pastries are particularly good!) and part Tunisian, so there’s plenty to choose from. Dinner has varied considerably. Some evenings have been fairly average, while others have been genuinely excellent. Saturday night was a particular highlight, the slow-cooked beef was superb 👌. The gym is small but staffed, but actually had everything I needed to keep my training ticking over during the week, so no complaints there. Where the hotel falls down slightly is on the attention to detail and service you’d expect from a 5-star Hilton. Reception did not have the attention to detail of a genuine 5* accommodation. The onsite ATM had no cash for several days, while the hotel shop is expensive and, surprisingly, doesn’t accept cards. Apple Pay also isn’t widely accepted around the hotel (or anywhere), so definitely bring your physical bank cards and some cash. The sunbed situation is also frustrating. By around 8am most of the sunbeds have already been claimed with towels, despite many of them then sitting empty for large parts of the day. It would be good to see the hotel manage this more actively. Overall, though, we’ve had a very enjoyable family holiday. The children have loved it, the entertainment has been outstanding, there have been some excellent meals, and the hotel has plenty going for it. I’d rate it 4/5 overall, a good 4-star resort with 5-star entertainment.
