We have just returned from our second stay at Agar Apartments, and once again, we honestly couldn't fault it. We travelled as 4 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 4, and Agar Apartments really is one of those special little family-run hotels where you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Everyone remembered us from our visit last year, which immediately made us feel like we were coming back to visit friends rather than simply returning to a hotel. The hospitality here is genuinely 10/10, and if you're looking for somewhere family-friendly, relaxed and welcoming, we would highly recommend Agar Apartments. ⭐ The Staff & Hospitality The staff couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. The owner is always around, incredibly accommodating and genuinely wants everyone to have a good holiday. A special thank you to Aziz and Ismail, who were absolutely amazing with us and especially with the children. They made us feel so welcome and were fantastic with the kids. The bar staff have excellent English and brilliant banter, which makes sitting around the bar in the evenings even more enjoyable. The cleaners also work incredibly hard. Our room was spotless, and nothing was ever too much trouble. I asked for extra pillows and they were brought without any fuss at all. My mum uses a walker, and the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. Reception would happily call taxis for her whenever needed, and before we arrived we emailed asking for a ground-floor apartment. They arranged this for us without any problems. ⭐ The Apartments The apartments are basic but spotlessly clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a two-hob kitchen, kettle, fridge with a small freezer compartment and a small amount of plates, cutlery and cooking equipment. I do think the hotel encourages guests to eat at the restaurant rather than cook in the apartments, but if you need extra plates, cutlery or anything else, just ask and they'll happily bring it. There isn't a toaster, so we brought our own. We stayed in room 505, which had a brand-new air-conditioning unit. Air conditioning is around £7 per day, but it was absolutely freezing when it was switched on, so it definitely did the job! The Wi-Fi was available around the pool, restaurant, bar and balcony. Inside the accommodation, however, the strength depended on where your room was and ours could be quite weak or unavailable. ⭐ The Pool & Sunbeds The pool is lovely and clean and clearly very well looked after. Every night we saw the manager, Mohamed, thoroughly scrubbing and cleaning the whole pool area. You can really see the pride they take in keeping everything clean. And best of all... NO SUNBED WARS! 😂 We were getting up around 10am some mornings with the children and could still easily find four sunbeds together. There were always more beds than people who needed them, which made such a nice change from some holiday resorts. Another lovely touch is that guests often leave behind floats and inflatables. The night staff collect them and store them safely in a corner, ready for all the children to use the following day. Such a simple but lovely idea. ⭐ The Food – WOW! The food at Agar Apartments was honestly one of the biggest highlights of our holiday. The food is reasonably priced, the portions are massive, and I genuinely can't say I had one bad meal the whole time we were there. Everything we ate at the restaurant was just perfect. Be warned, though — the portions are huge! 😂 ⭐ The Boat Trip We also did the hotel's boat trip, and this was another highlight of our holiday. It costs around £45 per adult and £22.50 per child, with under-5s going free. The hotel bus picks you up at around 9:30–10am, you set sail at approximately 11am and return around 5pm. Before you leave, all paying guests can have any breakfast from the hotel menu, apart from the extra-large breakfast. To be honest, the regular breakfast is more than big enough anyway! Once you're on the boat, lunch is served — tomato pasta, salad and a chicken schnitzel-style meal. And when I say the portions are massive, I mean massive! 😂 Every person gets the same huge portion, including those travelling for free. You will probably end up eating some of the children's meals too because they really do feed the 5,000 out there! When you return to the hotel, you're then treated to a three-course set menu. Again... WOW! The portion sizes were enormous. We were so full we couldn't manage dessert, but the staff insisted we have it anyway, so they wrapped it up for us and we kept it for the following day as a snack by the pool. For the price, the boat trip is fantastic value and we'd definitely recommend doing it. ⭐ Overall Agar Apartments isn't a luxury resort, and the apartments are basic, but that's not what makes this place special. It's the people. It's the family atmosphere. It's the incredible hospitality. It's the cleanliness. It's the amazing food. It's the fact that nothing is ever too much trouble. And it's how welcome they make you feel. We've now stayed twice and were recognised from the moment we arrived. That says everything. For a family-friendly holiday with fantastic hospitality, we honestly couldn't recommend Agar Apartments enough. 10/10 from all six of us. A massive special thank you to Aziz and Ismail for making us feel so welcome and for being absolutely amazing with our children. You both helped make our holiday so memorable. We will definitely be back for visit number three! ❤️

“A little Gem 💎 of a place.”

This hotel is absolutely perfect! The size, the staff, NO sunbed wars, the food, the cocktails, we had the best room with the best view, honestly its nice and clean very spacious the kitchen area has loads of work top space, there's literally one man who works all day and night don't know how he does it, I tipped him well he deserved it! The cleaners come every day, was so good just sitting on our balcony watching the world go bye! There were still sunbeds free after dinner!! Didn't do the boat trip but seemed good for the money, I didn't really enjoy Gumbet but this hotel was a gem of a find thank you for a great relaxing week just what we needed, there's no shop on sight, aircon was well worth it leave the bedroom door open. Keep up the great work well done team Agar.

Food is very good quality, freshly cooked. Drinks aplenty. Yes, slightly more expensive than the supermarket, but how else are people going to make a profit. We are booking for next year.
