“Basic hotel”

It's a basic 2 stars hotel, located near a tram way station and surrounded by shops and restaurants, it's in a calm side street... The reception staff were helpful and the room was comfortable : good bed, clean and calm... It's suitable for a one night stay.

11-12/11/18 - We three British middle aged guys were at the very end of our fortnight's tour of this part of Turkey's Mediterranean coastline. We had a very early Thomas Cook flight back to LGW and had debated as to whether we stay up all night in Anatalya, catch the last tram or bus to the airport and sleep on the chairs inside. We decided it was too risky so booked this very cheap hotel in advance via Hotels dot com (as Bkng dot com is banned in T). It was in an area we had originally arrived in, near our first hotel (Ozgur) so we had no problems with orientation on our very last evening in Antalya. I did not check it first on TA and on finishing off this review back in London have found it has inly three reviews, each person a sole contributer! Time for me as a big contributer to weigh in with my ha'penny's worth..... We arrived around 16:15 to the hotel with a waterfall gushing from a gutter high above (no rain) into the street, a bit ominous, but on entering we found a huge reception with comfy sofas and a friendly woman receptionist who checked us in. We told her we would not be staying all night as had the early flight and we confirmed there was no public transport early in the morning. She offered us to find a local taxi to take us cheaper than the yellow cabs at around 70TL (£10) which we found reasonable (we rarely do taxis but this was necessary evil). She phoned up one and arranged that it it would be outside at 03:30. We had booked a double and single bed room for three but she said there was a triple available at no extra cost which we agreed to so she gave us the key to room 309 which we took a lift up to. We entered the room to find a smallish slightly musty room with a metal frame bunk bed and single bed, not quite what we expected and we should have been told it was a bunk bed suitable for children. The linen was clean as were the set of six towels although the wardrobe bottom drawer had collapsed. An LED TV and A/C unit were on the walls. I think there were no English channels on it, no problem for us as not staying long. There was a smoke detector above the door on top of the wardrobe was some crinkled up tape and a set if hooks (which I secured onto the ventilation grill in the showerroom to be used for towels. The curtains were diaphanous as usual but again we were up early before dawn so not affecting us. A large window which opened onto the street and the waterfall. The showerroom was small but fine with a round quadrant sliding plastic door shower unit, fill soap dispenser and hooks for rowels. There was no shaving/makeup light over the sink, only a central light. The water pressure was good. Three pairs of disposable slippers were provided which was a nice touch considering how cheap the hotel was. I stayed in the lower bunk and my view of the underside was of cardboard boxes which was odd but no big deal. We unpacked a bit and headed out to catch the sunset snack and beer (unlisted Cagdas Yasam Cay Bahcesi at the far Western end overlooking the bay) and a meal (Rokka). On our way put we used the stairs (more eco friendly) and saw that the two floors below were being heavily renovated and obviously no-one was staying there. On our arrival I had also popped up upstairs (in case there was a roof terrace for the sunset) which seemed to be another useable floor and then a service floor. The hotel was obviously only working on half capacity as it renovated. We returned relatively early (the waterfall had stopped) for an early night and four hours sleep before awaking at 03:00 for a quick shower, pack and down at 03:20 to our taxi at 03:25 which arrived early. The night porter (who we had seen on arriving back at 23:30 and confirmed our taxi was ordered) was very friendly. The taxi turned out to be a yellow cab but the metered fare to the airport was 68 rounded up to 70. As we were only there a few hours, the cheapness and basic facilities of the hotel suited us fine. The renovations on the two floors below will hopefully freshen up any rooms there and our third floor will be next. We did hear some building work whilst there but as we were out a lot it did not matter. If you stay you may need to bring good earplugs just in case.
