Having stayed at several resorts in the Belek area previously, we arrived at Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek with high expectations. Whilst the resort has a number of positive attributes, there were several issues that ultimately prevented the experience from matching the five-star standard it promotes. The resort itself is visually impressive, particularly the main lobby area, which creates an excellent first impression. There are plenty of places to relax and explore, the adults-only pool is spacious with ample sunbeds available, and the pool attendants are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The beach bar also provides a lively atmosphere for those seeking entertainment throughout the day and evening. Unfortunately, one of the most noticeable issues was the presence of large numbers of small black midges around the pool and resort grounds. Whether this is related to the extensive topiary landscaping or a seasonal occurrence, it was something we had never experienced during three previous holidays in the Belek region. The insects were constantly landing on guests throughout the day, making it surprisingly difficult to fully relax, sunbathe, or enjoy extended periods by the pool. The resort's sunbed policy also appeared inconsistent. Guests are advised that sunbeds cannot be reserved and that unattended towels left for more than an hour will be removed by staff. In reality, there appeared to be no clear process in place. During our stay, towels were frequently removed within minutes of guests leaving their beds, even when personal belongings, drinks, books, and clothing remained nearby. Given the size of the resort and the fact that it never felt overcrowded, this policy felt unnecessarily aggressive and often created inconvenience for guests simply visiting the snack bars or facilities for a short period. Food quality was generally good, although the buffet offerings lacked variety throughout the week. Many dishes appeared repeatedly at both lunch and dinner, and whilst the food was enjoyable, it was often only lukewarm rather than properly hot. Service standards were mixed. Whilst some staff members were pleasant and helpful, many appeared disengaged from guests and communication could be difficult due to limited English proficiency. This is understandable to a degree in an international resort; however, some interactions felt abrupt and lacking the level of hospitality typically associated with a luxury hotel. The bar service was particularly frustrating at times, with no obvious queuing system in place. Guests often had to compete for attention, leading to lengthy waits whilst others were served ahead of them. The entertainment offering will largely depend on what type of holiday you are seeking. The beach bar features a DJ, music, dancing, and a lively social atmosphere throughout the day and into the evening. For guests looking for a party environment, this is undoubtedly a positive. However, those expecting the tranquillity often associated with a five-star luxury resort may be disappointed, as the music is extremely loud and can be heard across much of the pool complex. It is also worth noting that many songs played during the daytime contained uncensored explicit language, including strong profanity, which some families may find inappropriate. As the hotel is closely linked to the neighbouring golf resort, there is also a significant presence of golfing groups around the property. Whilst most caused no issues, there were occasions where the atmosphere felt dominated by a "lads' holiday" culture, with excessive swearing and inappropriate banter detracting from the otherwise premium environment. Although the resort was reportedly built around 2015-2016, parts of the property now show signs of wear that one would not typically expect from a hotel of this calibre. Beyond the impressive lobby, many of the residential corridors appear tired, with stained carpets, damaged walls, peeling paintwork, and general cosmetic deterioration evident throughout. One particularly confusing aspect of the resort's policies relates to the adults-only pool. Families with children are correctly prohibited from using this area; however, guests who hire one of the poolside pavilions adjacent to the adults-only pool appear able to bring young children into the same space without challenge. This inconsistency undermines the purpose of having an adults-only area in the first place and suggests the policy may not have been fully considered. Overall, Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek offers attractive surroundings, good facilities, and some genuinely hardworking staff members. However, inconsistent service, maintenance concerns, questionable policy enforcement, limited food variety, and a lack of tranquillity mean that, whilst enjoyable in parts, the experience falls short of what many travellers would reasonably expect from a luxury five-star resort.
