“Great Family Vacay”

First time in Drita as a family of five and we loved it. Offered everything we could ask for: Close to the sea, nice & friendly staff, clean, a lot of activities, great food & drinks and great for kids! My 5 year-old niece had the best time. Only - for me was the wifi, it’s not the best.

A 3-hour transfer along the Turkish Riviera. We read most of the reviews before arriving and knew what to expect. The weather was beautiful in October, and the sea was warm. The food was varied and the drinks were just right for us, and the quantity was adequate. The room seemed dated, but we were happy with it. The staff were polite, but they took plates and cutlery from the table without asking, as if on cue. A taxi to Alanya costs €20, while the bus from in front of the hotel costs €2. The hotel is clean, and the beach is beautiful.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel. It was my first time in Turkey but my fiancee had been to this hotel 6 years ago. Overall, not what we would consider a 5* hotel. The location is great, right on the beachfront and a private beach with more than enough sunbeds. The hotel gives you free beach towels. You get a card for it when you check-in. You give this to the spa team. You can change your towel daily but make sure you get your towel card back on the last day and give it in with your room key or they may charge you! FOOD: One of the reasons my fiancee booked for us to go was because of the exquisite food from her last visit. Unfortunately when she saw the restaurant for the first time she apologised to me as the food has really gone down hill in the last 6 years both in quality and presentation. Being a vegetarian/pescatarian she had issues some days finding food (other than rice and stuffed peppers full of rice) at tea time as most of (what you thought would've been) vegetarian dishes (like chick peas) had meat in them. Save for two of the nights when they had lovely fresh grilled whole fish and sushi, there was nothing special to the food. Even the one 'themed' night was Turkish and was mainly kebab meat. The meat, most nights was either chicken, turkey and/or kebab. On an evening there is an outdoor oven area to the rear of the restaurant (where the outdoor tables are so check this out before you plate up inside). We only ate at breakfast and dinner as there's so much food around the bars all day. The salads and deserts and breakfasts are plentiful and the chef will cook you a fresh omelette if asked. We were slightly perplexed by fresh boiled sprouts, chips and onion rings being out for breakfast most days, however since very few English stay here, I'm guessing this is a European thing! We tried lunch once and were lucky to get fresh grilled fish but other than that I can't comment on the lunch time food. We would highly recommend going to see the old Turkish lady in the Gozleme tent (halfway from the pool to the beach). She's only there a few hours a day but make the most amazing snacks with the world's thinnest fresh bread! The burgers at the beach bar are very good too. We opted to eat in the A La Carte restaurant on the last night (you get one visit per 7 night stay). It is only open on an evening and only Monday to Thursday. It's a set 5 course meal and very filling. It was fish night on our night but I understand it changes each night. They do tell you at reception when booking what the main dish is that night just in case you don't eat that. Food: 3* +. ROOM: We had 1611, with a sea view. A beautiful room with a very comfy bed. We're both disabled and have a specialist mattress at home in the UK, however we both slept unbelievably well each night and didn't wake up in pain. The room had a free safe in it and fridge with big bottles of water replaced every day if needs be. We had the maids in every other day as we found that was enough. We even got the bed sheet art too, though we found that not every maid does that. A few minor issues with the room in that neither of the blue spotlights worked, but this didn't bother us. The unit containing the fridge is showing lots of wear and tear. There was never any conditioner in the shower and the grouting around the tiling inside the bathroom door frame looks to have been done by a child. Rooms: 4*+ The overall look and feel of the hotel is 4*+ and is incredibly clean. We would recommend the indoor pool (though be warned it is not heated and the outdoor pool and sea are warmer), Turkish bath and sauna. We were offered a free massage but declined due to health reasons. The massages are very reasonably priced and more so in a package over the week. STAFF: They are the best thing about the hotel and all work incredibly hard, most six days a week and anywhere between an 8 & 14 hour shift per day. We looked (Googled) at what they earn on average a month in Lira, broke it down to a daily (gross) figure and converted it to GBP (our currency) and it worked out on average to around £17 per day! To us, that's insane. Needless to each area has a 'tip' box (except the room cleaners who you have to leave a tip for in the room. The staff can also accept personal tips for exceptional service. I'm not sure how you tip the animation team but they are incredibly hard (but not pushy) workers too. We spent most nights in the lounge bar (or on the terrace of it) and the resident bargain called Irem is outstanding. She works incredibly hard and knows what every drinks. She brings fresh drinks to the table and clears the old glasses without prompting, she incredibly polite and always friendly with a smile on her face. A huge credit to the hotel. STAFF 5*+. The only issue we had with the hotel (and this is not a reflection on the hotel or the staff in any way) is that I had my watch stolen from the poolside sunbed. My phone and glasses were left alone, but a fellow guest felt the need to steal something which was a sentimental gift to me from my fiancee last year. This was our first holiday in over 2 years (we were supposed to go to Fethiye last April but I had an aortic root aneurysm (I died twice on the operating table) and two strokes which left me in a coma just before the holiday)). You should be able to trust your fellow guests especially in a 5* hotel We will return to the hotel but we will not take anything precious or valuable with us unless it'll be in the safe in the room!
