Oh dear, where to begin? We arrived at 2am and expected the reception to be open as stated it was 24 hours. After a good twenty minutes or so a young lad appeared with his headphones on which wasn't a great first impression. It was all inclusive so asked if we could have a coffee but was told the bar was shut but we could have some water out of the water dispenser. The water dispenser was stood by the side of the "bar" on top of what can only be described as an open cess pit judging by the smell coming up from a hole a foot square in the floor right in front of it. The room was very basic but on first impression it was clean, how wrong were we? The toilet seat was broken and the shower was filthy, hair all over and the tiles were mouldy. Reported first thing in the morning but nothing was done until our holiday rep got involved. The food was horrendous! Boiled chicken carcass everyday with overcooked veg a bit of dried up bread and frozen veg in a white sauce. The only saving grace was the tomato, cucumber salad and the watermelon served as dessert. No glasses or cups just a few tiny plastic beakers which were just swilled under the tap, plastic plates and fighting over cutlery seemed to be every mealtime. Staffed entirely by men with only one who seemed to do any work, the others just sat at the bar smoking. The all inclusive covered the same slop for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks were machine coffee, tea, orange cordial and water. The bar had a few empty alcohol bottles on the shelves but when asked what was available was told just wine although there was no evidence of it and no one seemed to have found it as drinks were brought in by other customers. On day two we asked when the room would be cleaned and was told just once a week! We were rationed toilet roll and clean towels which we had to carry through the dining area after being made to feel a nuisance for requesting them. The pool was the only decent thing there, it was clean and really quite refreshing, sunbeds were basic plastic with no pads and only one that was adjustable. Sun parasols were the perfect height for facial injuries almost everyone hit their heads at least once, they were also badly in need of repair. Absolutely no entertainment other than one evening a man up a ladder appeared to be doing some electrical work on a light in the reception area. Huge bang, a flash of sparks and darkness ensued much to the amusement and horror of my partner who is an electrician. Finally we went to check out at 6am the young lad who checked us in was lounging in a comfy chair in the reception area still with his headphones on talking away to someone on his phone. After a good ten minutes he looked up and managed to drag himself behind the counter and mumble something about leaving our key whilst still talking on the phone. So if you want to spend the week picking bits of boiled chicken off the carcass and drinking coffee and water out of a plastic cup you've had to wrestle for and being looked at like you're an inconvenience by all means book yourself into Arse City Hotel. There were some beautiful cats living in the hotel grounds which were a lovely distraction to what can only be described as a hotel from hell! I'm never usually so judgemental and take reviews with a pinch of salt but please don't water your money staying here
