Just got back from a lovely family holiday at the Asteria Collection Side. We are a family of 4 with 2 teens - my husband emailed the hotel in advance and asked for our rooms to be near each other and they put us in adjacent rooms. Couldn’t fault the facilities - really clean in all the public areas, lots of pools, we never had a problem getting a lounger or somewhere to sit in a bar or at meals. Came with our teenagers - we were in the ‘upper’ part of the hotel away from the family side and that suited us well as it was quieter but we could also take advantage of the entertainment. The beach is a short stroll and there is a regular little shuttle bus to and from. There are (quite expensive) water sports and the snack bar is nice for lunch. I’ve seen a review from another English family complaining about the food being catered to Russian tastes but we always found plenty for all of us to eat - freshly cooked waffles and pancakes in the morning were very popular with the boys! The only negative of the food for us was the international à la carte, where the service was very poor, tables were messy, food was missing. We tried it twice in case the first time was a bad night, but the second time was worse! However, both buffets, the Turkish à la carte and the snack bars were all excellent. Absolutely delicious cocktails were a hit with the grown ups. Receptionists were very helpful when we wanted to go to Side for the day and also when we had problems connecting to the wifi - which has good coverage (no complaints from the teens!). Small water park onsite that I was worried wouldn’t be entertaining enough but the slides are fast and fun, and we went on them everyday.

“Rooms awful, food and service good”

Do not book if you are expecting a 5 star holiday. The rooms let this hotel down - shabby and lots of broken items throughout the rooms and communal areas. And very, very noisy. Do not book if you are expecting a 5 star holiday. The rooms let this hotel down - shabby and lots of broken items throughout the rooms and communal areas. And very, very noisy. Extremely loud DJ until midnight (even on the 'silent' evening) Staff in the main reception were overwhelmed by people swapping rooms, which was tricky as the hotel was full. We were charged 30 euros per day, per room to upgrade, this was to a room that is 3/4 star at best. 1st room - smelt of damp, balcony door didn't lock, only a single sheet on a double bed and no other bedding, v small room, drain smell in bathroom. 2nd room - A/C not working (was fixed quickly), remote to A/C broken, key card holder broken by door, curtains not wide enough for doors so light from both sides, toiletries awful (take your own), poor quality bed (feel every move of partner), felt like we were sharing a room with the adjoining room as interconnecting door not sealed - so much so you can see the lights on in their room and hear every word of a conversation, crying, coming and going, balcony door didn't lock, no end on curtain rail so curtain fell off the end, towels very thin 3rd room - better but not great, still noisy despite being told it would be quiet, 'rough around the edges', lifts inadequate for the building so lots of waiting or steps. Most of the equipment broken in the gym, tap not working in communal toilets, you have to walk through a car park, out to the street and back in to get to the Collection 2 part of the hotel, to access the beach you walk alongside broken dirty fountains and weeds (it needs some work to get it to a pleasant standard) On the positive side - the staff were all friendly, efficient and hardworking and the hotel is clean, the food is excellent and the beach set up great. And there were always loungers available especially on the beach.

“Not 5 star!!!!! More 3 star”

This is NOT 5 star Hotel, its more a 3/4 star. The drink selection is very poor, the overall vibe & feel is budget. The rooms are clean, yet all the added extras are severely lacking. This is NOT 5 star Hotel, its more a 3/4 star. The drink selection is very poor, the overall vibe & feel is budget. The rooms are clean, yet all the added extras are severely lacking. I'll upload pictures later. I've stayed in many 5 star Turkish hotels, and thought this was very reasonably priced, There's a reason for that!!!!! Staff are pleasant, slides are great for the kids, and not too many English here.
