As regular visitors to Barut Andiz in Side, we decided maybe it was time for a change. We are so glad we booked! Being used to adults only hotels, we were a little unsure about being in a family hotel. We need not have been concerned! The pool area for over 16s is spacious, relaxing and peaceful. We ate breakfast in the adult only area of the main restaurant and booked a table in the adult section at the Safran à la carte. Yes, there were children jn other areas, but the hotel is so vast, there is always a quiet spot somewhere. We really liked Olive à la carte for lunch and dinner. Great staff, atmosphere and food. Ocean is in a lovely position, just off the beach. We ate once in the new Prime à la carte at an extra charge of €50 per adult. The food and service were excellent, but it lacked atmosphere - maybe just too quiet at this point in the season. We booked a room in the adult section. Spacious, modern and kept very clean. Lovely views of the pool and sea. Great shower & the fridge was stocked with whatever you please. We requested cartons of milk to put in our morning coffee, made with the Nespresso machine and pods. The gardens are vast, well looked after and beautiful to walk through. A large team maintain the grounds to keep everything looking fabulous. Look out for tortoise, hoopoe birds and read about the sea daffodils! Great to see that the hotel cares about its environment so much. What makes this hotel really successful is the staff. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello. We encountered several people who are just lovely to have a conversation with - all the guys in the Yasemin bar; Mehmet in Olive; Oguz in Ocean; Atílla in The Restaurant, as well as countless others whose names I have not yet learned :) The General Manager, Mr Ergin, is always around and is always happy to chat. It's lovely to see the management talking to guests - something we have seldom seen in other hotels. We have 5 days left of our holiday as I write this...before going home to book another holiday at Akra Sorgun! Thank you for a lovely holiday.

“Fantastic Hotel”

We stayed at the Akra Sorgun for 11 nights as a family of 4 (2 teenagers). The hotel had only opened for the season a week before our arrival, and was fairly quiet on our first few days, but got busier throughout. The standard of food and drink was excellent. We stayed at the Akra Sorgun for 11 nights as a family of 4 (2 teenagers). The hotel had only opened for the season a week before our arrival, and was fairly quiet on our first few days, but got busier throughout. The standard of food and drink was excellent. We ate in all à la carte restaurant s and they were delicious. The staff were amazing with special thanks to the waiter Murat who waabsolutely amazing ! If you do not like cats, be warned the hotel has many (all of whom are friendly and no bother). As cat lovers, this hotel was great, and the cats are clearly well cared for. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“Show Cast/Reps this year?”

Disappointed to read on reviews this week there is to be no show cast/rep performers this year - is that correct??? Have been coming to this hotel for many, many years and enjoyed the interaction with the show cast/cast by candlelight/Jersey boys - singing, quizzes, and mixing with guests generally… more

Disappointed to read on reviews this week there is to be no show cast/rep performers this year - is that correct??? Have been coming to this hotel for many, many years and enjoyed the interaction with the show cast/cast by candlelight/Jersey boys - singing, quizzes, and mixing with guests generally in the lobby bar in the evening. The cast also used to attend the cooking demos/cocktail making and art classes etc during the day - all contributing and adding to the fun and conversation and mixing with guests of all nationalities. Whilst it is good to see the international bands and acts too, we would be very sad if the cast/reps participation in day activities/evenings in lobby bar has been stopped entirely? If so, this is quite a negative shift in the enjoyment/atmosphere of this much loved hotel. Will this be added back later on in the season and up to October/November?
