We recently returned from a 9-night stay at Side Moon Palace. First Impressions & Check-in When we arrived, we were really impressed with the reception staff. They were welcoming, friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. We had booked a swim-up room after seeing some lovely photos online. However, when we were shown to our room, it looked nothing like the pictures. There was a huge wall directly in front of the room which would clearly block most of the sun, and the pool area didn’t look particularly clean. After discussing it, we decided to go back to reception and explain that we had expected something more in line with the room shown in the promotional photos. To be fair to the staff, they were very helpful. They explained they couldn’t move us that day but asked us to return the following morning. We went back at 9am the next day and they managed to change our room. The replacement room was much better and we were really pleased with it. Rooms The rooms themselves are modern, clean, and extremely spacious — everything you would want from a hotel room. Staff & Service The waiting and bar staff are what really make this hotel. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for guests and worked incredibly hard throughout our stay. We really appreciated their effort and friendliness. Beach & Facilities We enjoyed visiting the beach for lunch. It was very easy to get to using the regular shuttle bus service, which was reliable and convenient. Location The location is good if you don’t mind using taxis to get around. It’s easy enough to get to both Side Old Town and Manavgat, and there is also a local bus option available, although we personally didn’t use this. We mainly used taxis and found them convenient. That said, this isn’t the type of hotel where you can easily walk out and explore lots of places nearby. There is a small shopping area close to the hotel, but if you want more choice for restaurants or to eat out in the evenings — which we did a couple of times due to losing interest in the hotel food — you’ll need to factor in getting a taxi or using public transport. Food Unfortunately, this is where the hotel fell short for us. Having stayed in several hotels in Turkey before, I personally wouldn’t say this felt like a true 5-star experience. The food was disappointing and lacked variety. It didn’t seem to cater particularly well to British tourists. I wouldn’t consider myself a fussy eater, but most days it felt like we were eating the same things repeatedly — chips, rice, chicken schnitzel, and pasta. The food offering became quite repetitive and it would have been nice to see more themed evenings rather than just Turkish and fish nights. Hotel Rep Experience One other downside was the meeting we were encouraged to attend with the hotel rep on arrival. We expected information about the hotel and recommendations for the local area, but instead it felt like a sales pitch for excursions. We had already decided not to book any excursions, and the rep seemed unhappy with that decision. During the first few days, I received several messages asking why we didn’t want to book anything, which felt unnecessary and wasn’t the experience we wanted. Overall Overall, we had some positives — particularly the staff, the room once changed, and the beach facilities. However, I don’t think I’d rush back. I’ve stayed in better hotels in Turkey at a similar price point, and for us this didn’t quite live up to its 5-star rating.

We have just returned from a 10night stay at Moon Palace. Good parts - hotel and rooms lovely, big and clean and staff helpful and nice. Pool was good size and the kids pool was amazing for the kids. We have just returned from a 10night stay at Moon Palace. Good parts - hotel and rooms lovely, big and clean and staff helpful and nice. Pool was good size and the kids pool was amazing for the kids. Animation team were lovely and kids loved the disco. Now onto the bad, the food they did not cater for British at all and the meat was under cooked, we also struggled some nights to get a table at dinner had to wait about 15mins. We went all inclusive but this does not include cocktails, milkshakes etc you have to pay 10euros for these. Ice creams and waffles only served between 4pm & 6pm. There is also nothing around the hotel area either have to get a bus or taxi.
