We have been coming back to Green Forest Hotel for 11 years now, and we absolutely love it—it has become a complete magnet for us. ​The hotel grounds are stunning, beautifully maintained, and set the perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday. A huge part of what makes our stay so special every year is the hotel manager, Fatih, who always goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect for us. ​The rest of the team makes the holiday unforgettable as well: ​Entertainment: Jeffrey the entertainer is brilliant! Whether it’s water polo, the club dance, or shooting in the forest, he keeps the atmosphere lively and fun. ​Bar Staff: All of the bar staff are fantastically helpful, friendly, and work so hard. ​On-site Shop: Don't miss the shop run by Mr Cheap—he is so funny, and the quality of the clothes and bags he sells is genuinely top-notch. ​If we had to offer one small piece of constructive feedback, it would be regarding the evening snack bar. It closes at 9:00 PM, but if you arrive after 8:00 PM, the service can feel a bit rushed, with starters and mains all being brought out at the same time. However, we raised this directly with Fatih, and he was fantastic—he completely understood our point and took it right on board. It would also be a great bonus if the bar or shop stocked a few more snacks like chocolates, sweets, cakes, and pastries for light evening cravings. ​Despite that tiny detail, this place is magic to us. As you can tell by our 11 consecutive years visiting, we adore Green Forest Hotel and we will, of course, be returning again next year!

Great location, spotlessly clean. Lovely family atmosphere and all staff very friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Jeffrey for the entertainment and making us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Check‑in was quick and straightforward, and the staff helped us with our suitcases — just be aware they do tend to expect a tip, and at the time we only had English currency.We chose the bed and breakfast option rather than going all‑inclusive, mainly because we’re not big drinkers, and it actually worked out fine. The food at the hotel was good, with a reasonably priced menu and a decent selection. We only ordered from the lunch menu a couple of times as we preferred to eat out, and we had one evening meal at the hotel. Water was around 70 TL for a 1.5‑litre bottle, roughly £1.50.Breakfast, however, was a bit off‑putting. There were a lot of flies around the fruit — something we noticed not just at the hotel but across Hisaronu and even down in Ölüdeniz. Because of that, we mostly stuck to toast, and bringing our own marmite definitely helped.The location is great, though. A five‑minute walk takes you to the bottom of the Hisaronu strip, where there are countless restaurants to choose from, so eating out was easy and enjoyable.Our room was clean but quite dated and tired. The bed was very uncomfortable — lumpy, squeaky, and just a standard double. We really think the hotel should invest in new mattresses. There was only a bottom sheet and a thick over‑blanket, which wasn’t ideal, but when we asked for an extra sheet the staff provided one straight away. The air con worked well without any fuss, which was a relief in the heat.Although the hotel advertises seven pools, unless you had a swim‑up room, only three were actually accessible: the main pool, a shallow toddler pool (a good size and very safe), and the slide pool, which was slightly quieter. The slides themselves were only open for two one‑hour sessions per day, so something to keep in mind if you’re travelling with children who love the water.Around the pool area, we weren’t quite sure why so many guests felt the need to reserve sun loungers. There were plenty to go around, yet people must have been getting up very early to put towels down. The hammocks were a lovely extra touch, but again, some guests left their towels on them all day and only returned at the end of the afternoon to collect them. It felt unnecessarily selfish, especially given there was no shortage of places to sit or relax.One thing worth noting is that although the hotel advertises a shuttle bus to the beach, this service is no longer available now they’ve switched to bed and breakfast only. Taxis were easy enough, though, and cost around £8 each way.We also have to mention Mr Cheep, who runs the little shop inside the hotel. His prices were very reasonable, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. When my husband cut his foot and it started to look infected, Mr Cheep went out of his way to source antiseptic lotion for him — and he wouldn’t accept any payment for it. A genuinely lovely man.Overall, the staff were really nice, and despite a few downsides, we had a pleasant stay. Our total bill for the week was around £100, including the safe, which was very affordable at £3 per night (£18 for the week). The hotel has its quirks, but the location and the people — especially Mr Cheep — made it a good base for exploring the area.
