Magellan, Marco Polo, Astoria and Columbus are child-free and therefore for the enjoyment of adult passengers only (16 years and above at the time of sailing), with the exception of a few advertised multigenerational cruises on Magellan and Columbus with no age restriction (please note there are no specific children's facilities on board).

There are no dedicated recreational facilities for children aboard Astor but nevertheless accompanied children and teenagers under the age of 18 at the date of sailing are of course welcome on board and, when occupying a third or fourth berth in a cabin with two full fare paying passengers, travel at the beneficial rate shown under the ‘Fares’ boxes. Children and teens under the age of 18 at the date of sailing but occupying a twin cabin with just one accompanying adult, are charged at the full adult fare

On board Columbus and Magellan ships there are single occupancy priced cabins with just a 25% supplement on the equivalent category twin share prices.

Also, Singles travelling on cruises of 6 nights or more will enjoy a special programme events including a welcome cocktail party and get-togethers to meet like-minded travellers.

There is a wide choice of optional shore excursions designed to maximise your time at each port of call. Details wil be announced about 2 months before the sailing date.

During days at sea, the entertainments team will offer you different activities such as morning quizzes or afternoon dance classes. Or you can also choose to work-out in the gym, make-over in the beauty salon, have a swim in the pool. Also interesting speakers will entertain and arts and crafts specialists will teach you new skills. You choose!

There is a very high standard of evening entertainment on board to ensure you have an unforgettable cruise holiday thanks to a truly wonderful and varied entertainment programme. With stylish productions, guest acts, cabarets and classical interludes, there is something for everyone on board.

After completion of a CMV ocean or river cruise of any duration you will automatically qualify for membership of the Columbus Club and entitled to the range of benefits and rewards outlined below. You will enjoy a feast of delights freshly prepared by expert chefs and served by attentive restaurant staff. Opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely lunch and enjoy sumptuous five course dinner every day.

Menus are a blend of traditional cuisine and international specialities.

Breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the restaurants on an open seating basis. For dinner in the evening, there is a choice of two sittings and your preference should be requested when booking your cruise.

As an alternative to the formal restaurants, you will enjoy a more relaxed buffet-style meal served up with an ocean view.

Also intimate speciality restaurants offer different dining options. Perfect for that special occasion or just to treat yourself (with a supplementary charge)

Although Columbus and Magellan operate essentially for adults only CMV offers a few Multi-Generational cruises, with no age restriction, during school holiday periods. These cruises enable the whole family to enjoy quality time together. Please note that there are no specific children’s facilities on board but activities are organised for children.
