The climate of Amami Oshima is classified as has a humid subtropical climate Köppen climate classification with very warm summers and mild winters. The rainy season lasts from May through September.

From the shrine there are stairs leading to Kuanyin Caves, Taroko Tower , Bell Tower , and through a hanging bridge, so called "Heaven trail" to Changuang Temple.
