The east coast of Canada is a very large and varied region, from the bustling excitement of Halifax to the picturesque and peaceful city of Saint John's, the eldest of Northamerica. Ecos of Europe reflect in the streets, and charming architecture. On the other hand, the nature is an esential part of the daily life; you will find that the hiking, the rafting or the kayak navigation offer an oportunity to explore.
Sydney is the main port and largest community on Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia. The Sydney area has a rich coal mining and industrial history, the remnants of which can be found throughout the region. As the largest urban area on Cape Breton and the island’s historical capital, Sydney, Nova Scotia is the perfect mix of metropolitan charm and hospitality. The heart of Sydney is its waterfront, a great place to go for a walk and watch the ships in the harbour. At the Cape Breton Miners’ Museum visitors can learn about the island’s coal mining past, about life as a coal miner and take a fascinating tour through the Ocean Deep Colliery beneath the museum. Craft lovers will definitely want to visit the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design, featuring a gallery of work by Cape Breton artisans in a variety of media, including textile, clay, glass and wood.
Charlottetown is a small but beautiful Canadian city. It is located in a harbor formed by the confluence of three rivers in the central part of Prince Edward Island on the south coast. It has a small cultural center, with attractions such as music, theater and restaurants, historical visits and concerts from Celtic music to jazz. The old town consists of many Victorian homes, galleries and specialty shops. Nature lovers will enjoy of hiking trails and local parks.
