Inverness

Inverness, meaning "Mouth of the River Ness") is a city in the Scottish Highlands. It is the administrative centre for the Highland council area, and is regarded as the capital of the Highlands of Scotland. It is amodern town with signs of antiquity. Inverness Museum and Art Gallery displays the heritage of the area, from archaeology to natural history. Inverness Castle, dating from the1830s, is a prominent gothic-style building in red sandstone, now the setting of the Castle Garrison Encounter, a costume re-enactment of life for an 18th-century soldier.Today Inverness is modern and go-ahead, streets in summer are a busy mix of residents and visitors. The new extension to the Eastgate Centre, with its many High Street names, reflects the city's important commercial role, while the refurbished Victorian Arcade nearby provides a variety of Inverness shopping. The city also has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants and late-night venues, as well as Scottish Showtime, traditional music and dance performed in costume, said to be Scotland's longest running show. Another important cultural centre is the Eden Court Theatre and Cinema, with an entertainment programme to suit all tastes. The city environment is very attractive, with Inverness a Britain in Bloom award winner. Among its parks and gardens, the tropical gardens under glass in the Bught Floral Hall are notable. Nearby are the attractive walks by the Ness islands on the river.

Belfast

Belfast Harbour (also the Port of Belfast) is a major maritime gateway in Northern Ireland, It is increasingly popular with cruise liners. Belfast is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland and the second largest city on the island of Ireland after Dublin. Situated at the mouth of the River Lagan on Belfast Lough, Belfast is surrounded by low hills. After years of violence, its center has been polished up making it great to walk through the pedestrian streets, shop in its arcades and spend some time in its pubs or dine in its excellent restaurants. Belfast city centre is focused on Donegall Square and Belfast City Hall in its centre. The City Hall is the grand centerpiece of the city and the orientation point for your exploration of Belfast. Running north from the centre of Donegall Square is Donegall Place, a broad and bustling shopping street, which will lead you towards the Cathedral Quarter and the Arts School. Bedford Street, becomes Dublin Road, which, leads south to the University Quarter, area where you´ll find the Botanic Gardens, art galleries and museums. Belfast is home to a wide range of parks and open spaces, making it one of the greenest cities in Ireland. The Golden Mile is the area around Great Victoria Street beyond Bradbury Place and it is considered the city´s best address for restaurants and pubs. The famous I.R.A. and Protestant murals are just to the west of the city center and it´s perfectly safe to go there and take photos.

Greenock (Glasgow)

Greenock is a scottish city located in the west of the country, on the mouth to the south of estuary of the river Clyde. Along with Gourock and the Port of Glasgow, they form an urban core of about 75.000 inhabitants. Greenock is located about 20 km from Glasgow, comunicated along the european Route E05 that ends in Algeciras, Spain. it is also connectes to the capital by train, and it is an important passenger and comercial port.

Holyhead (Wales)

In the Island of Anglesey we can find the town of Holyhead, well known for being a busy ferry port. Here can find a number of interesting things to do like shopping, golfing, or sailing. We will find a beautiful scenery, walks and beaches and we will see both historic and prehistoric sites we can explore. In Holyhead there is a maritime museum and the South Stack Lighthouse, on the other side of Holyhead mountain, which are mandatory visits. We can also visit Barcloddia Yr Gawres, burial chambers or Llys Rhosyr the historic site. The town is built around St. Cybis Church, inside one of the three european walled Roman forts.
