Haugesund is situated on the Norwegian North Sea coast between Bergen and Stavanger. The enchanting city is located on Karmsund, the historic "Nordvegen", the name given to Norway and spread over several islands and the mainland. Fishing has always played an important role.
Nordfjordeid is the administrative centre of the municipality of Eid in Sogn og Fjordane county, western Norway. It is located at the end of the Eidsfjorden, an arm off of the main Nordfjorden, west of the large lake Hornindalsvatnet. There are many tourist attractions in this area, such as Geirangerfjord and the famous glacier at Briksdalen which attracts numerous international tourists every year.
The largest touristic attraction of Scandinavia: the sons of the ice that have eroded the mountains, leaving the fjords penetrate in the sea. These are amongst the nost impresive natiral formations in the world. The land of the southern fjords, or better said, on the southwest of Norway. it consists on four regions: More og Romsdal, Sogn and Fjorde Hordaland, and Rogaland. The most know attraction is the famous Sognefjord, the nearest fjord, deepest, longest in the world. Two hundred kilometers of blue branches on which thrives, wild, uncontrollable. Very few places in the world can admire of such a majestic nature. This is the Norwegian fjord, the region of strong contrasts, where the nature reigns. A nature in three colours (green, white and blue), those of the hanging cliffs and green moss, waterfalls hundreds of feet from the glaciars, and the sea everywhere. Just mention that 11 of the 20 glaciars of norways are in the fjord region. From the glaciar, to the fjord, to the sea it is no more than 2 hours.
