I can’t recommend Hotel Plaza enough! We had a junior suite, which meant getting a large, well designed room, superking bed, walk in shower and sofa. The property has recently been renovated, but the restaurant isn’t yet although it should be in 2 weeks time. We had breakfast in a restaurant across the road which was also lovely. The reception staff were accommodating and made the stay extra special.

What a gem of a spot! Not only is the location ideal for the main plaza, castle, and restaurants, but the staff were so helpful. We were in Berat when it was SOOO hot so not ideal for our normal strolling around the streets of a new town. Martinela, who is Albanian but was raised in Michigan, planned such delightful wine excursions for us with meals and a driver. She really made our stay in Berat something special. We are so grateful for what she added to our trip. Only issue at the hotel is that the included breakfast is across the street at their sister hotel and was only meh. Still very worth staying here.

“Great hotel.”

This hotel was great. Position was central and we were able to promenade with all the local. Staff were friendly, very welcoming and extremely helpful. Rooms were all you need and perfectly clean. Great value and would recommend.

This property is in a nice location about a 10-minute walk from downtown with free parking in a private lot in back. We had booked a “mini-suite” that turned out to be basically a large room. I expect a mini-suite to have a little seating area somewhere. This did not, and indeed only had one (large) comfortable chair, which was irritating. It would have been better to use that space to install 2 smaller comfy chairs and a little table to create a nice sitting area; that would be a real mini-suite. But other than that, the room was quite nice. The bathroom was huge with good space for toiletries, but there was only one small towel bar and one hook – not nearly enough. Water pressure was low, but better with the handheld shower head. The bed linens were very nice and the towels were large and thick. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had trouble getting the A/C going, but the staff was quick to respond (at 11 pm) and got it fixed. Breakfast was at their sister property across the street – it was ok. We’d return.
