We stayed in two rooms at the Taxerhof and had a wonderful holiday. The food is plentiful and excellent and the staff are so lovely. The wellness area was very relaxing after a hard day of skiing with two steam rooms a sauna and infrared room. There was a panoramic sauna that we didn’t use too and a lovely pool. Breakfast was plentiful and evening meal was a 5 course mixture of buffet and served food. Beautifully presented and very tasty. The ski bus stop literally outside and takes you directly to the slopes. You can ski from Radstadt to Altenmarkt very easily where there are more extensive nursery slopes and fun areas for kids to learn on (or you can get there by bubble car) We also got the bus to Flachau which has extensive skiing (bus to Radstadt post office and then second bus to Flachau) Great bar area with lots of games and a games room downstairs. Lovely hotel - we would definitely return

“First ski trip and this hotel has set a very high bar”

What a fantastic hotel and location. This was my first trip skiing and this hotel served its purpose. Close to Radstadt ski resort which could be reached via the ski bus which ran hourly. What a fantastic hotel and location. This was my first trip skiing and this hotel served its purpose. Close to Radstadt ski resort which could be reached via the ski bus which ran hourly. Place to store all of our equipment including heaters for your snow boots. Food and service was exceptional. Some staff struggled with the English language but that just meant we had to up our game with the German. Hardly any English people which was great as it felt like a proper holiday ;-) Things that could be improved was the temperature of the hotel. It was very hot in all areas of the hotel. Also the pillows were uncomfortable. Overall a fantastic holiday and can’t wait to go back

We had 7 nights stay at the Taxerhof Hotel over Christmas. It was everything we could have hoped for. The rooms and the food are excellent. The staff were wonderful. The hotel has great facilities for kids - swimming pools, play room, meal services, etc. It is very easy to get to the ski runs (ski bus stops just across the road) and there are shops and other services near by. We spoke to people who have skied all over Europe and they said that the Taxerhof is their favorite place to stay because the people are so lovely and it offers such great value. We totally agree.

We stayed at the Taxerhof whilst skiing in the Radstadt area. The hotel is 55 minutes by road from Salzburg airport. Direct train services are also available from Salzburg. Radstadt is not the biggest ski area but it's plenty if your not the type who likes to ski miles and miles every day. For those who want more, other areas are included on your ski pass and are easily accessible by the frequent & free ski buses. The local ski bus stop is directly outside the hotel. Another bus stop for Obertauern is at the end of the road, no more than a 5 minute walk. We walked to the ski lift at Radstadt every day. A very pleasant 25 minute walk through the golf course. The hotel is lovely and very well positioned. It sits outside the town of Radstadt on a quiet road overlooking a golf course. The Mayrhofer family are very welcoming and everything in the hotel is to a very high standard. We stayed in an Edelweiss suite (room 104) which had a great view from the balcony. The view from the lounge is not so great as it is blighted by the very modern & ugly neighbouring building. Stick to the balcony for the best views. The room was very spacious and great to relax in after skiing, it was great to have the lounge to relax in at the end of the day. The lounge also doubles as an extra bedroom if there are more than two guests. Our room had a bath and a separate shower. All the staff are very friendly & efficient particularly Melanie & Kristina who both looked after us so well all week. The food is excellent. Buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meal, four or even five courses with a buffet and carvery on the Saturday night. You make your choices at breakfast each morning. We used the pool which was great but did not use any of the other spa facilities. In summer we're sure that the rear garden patio area would be a hive of activity. The farm and small animals would get plenty of attention from visiting children. The town of Radstadt is worth a visit for an afternoon. It's a small and pretty old town. We also took the bus to Obertauern which is 25 minutes away. Definitely worth a visit for skiers or if you want see bigger mountains! The local people are so friendly. Everybody we passed said good morning on our daily walk to the slopes! Overall we were very impressed by both the area and the quality of the hotel. We would definitely recommend both.
