“Great Place To Stay”

Best and only hotel on the Island. Great service great place to stay. The pool was great. They give free scones and toast for breakfast as well as local fruit. They also have a little gift shop and coffee cafe that is nice addition. They do have a bar but I didn't use it.

The hotel is located near an industrial area on the outskirts of town. The rooms were spacious and clean albeit a bit dated. Given the lack if options, one of the better choices for the island

We stayed at the Tradewinds hotel for 12 nights, on the 3rd floor. We used the complimentary free hotel shuttle to & from the airport. We stayed at the Tradewinds hotel for 12 nights, on the 3rd floor. We used the complimentary free hotel shuttle to & from the airport. Upon arrival at the airport, we looked for the gentleman holding the “Tradewinds” sign, just as we were informed to do. The temperature in the room was wonderful and very cold! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at the Equator Restaurant at the hotel each morning, which consisted of cereal, scones, muffins, fresh fruit, juice, toast, a variety of jams and coffee. Some days the scones had nuts in them. Another complimentary item available was what seemed to be like a warm papaya tapioca soup. The papaya soup was rotated every other day with koko rice (a traditional Samoan cocoa rice dessert) they were both delicious! The fresh fruit varied each day between cantaloupe, honeydew melon and watermelon. Papaya (which was my favorite) was available every day. A breakfast menu is also available, with various other breakfast items that are available for purchase. We did purchase one breakfast platter one day, for $19. We rented a vehicle for our entire stay, parking at this hotel was free. We did opt in, to pay for WiFi daily, about $5 a day. We never had any trouble with WiFi service within the hotel, we did struggle a little outside near the swimming pool. It was nice to login to our Netflix account on the TV in our room. Security was super nice and greeted us each day, the front desk staff as well. Being able to do laundry on the property was super helpful for us! It was $2 to wash, $2 to dry each load. Laundry Soap is available at the front desk for purchase, we brought our own. One day, the front desk didn’t have quarters available, we were able to drive around the corner to a convenience store and were able to get quarters there. The 2 daily water bottles (upon request) that were left to us daily by housekeeping were a tremendous help. They did skip 3 days, we called the front desk on 2 different days and a housekeeper brought the bottled water to our room :). Our King Manaia room included a microwave and mini fridge (we were informed that these are provided in all rooms). There is an ice machine located on every floor. There were days that our dirty bath towels were taken but not replaced. It wasn’t a big deal and nothing that a quick phone call to the front desk couldn’t fix. The swimming pool looked super inviting, we just didn’t make the time to get in. I would definitely stay here again.

“Needs some TLC!”

Stayed there for only one night and it did its job. The hotel has a free airport shuttle and free parking on property, and only a 5 min drive away. Stayed there for only one night and it did its job. The hotel has a free airport shuttle and free parking on property, and only a 5 min drive away. The front desk staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. As far as the room goes, I'm pretty sure the llast time it was retouched, Jimmy Carter was President. My room (134) was very dated, with some TLC needed all over. The bed was extremely soft and not very comfortable. The furniture also looks like it was bought in a thrift store in 1982. There's a restaurant and a bar in the hotel, but sadly, the bartender was never really around. I even waited almost 20 min for him to comeback after complaining at the front desk. Overall, this is a decent option while in American Samoa. The staff was very friendly, the location was great, but at almost $200/night, I expected more for the room.

We found this hotel clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The free shuttle to and from the airport was great. We were also able to rent our car there. They charge $97 for a late checkout at 6:00 pm and another nights lodging beyond 6:00 pm.. We tried to get our Airolo sim to work and we also had a Garmin GPS and it would not work either. Get a map at the front desk and good luck. The infer-structure in Pago Pago is somewhat lacking. Almost none of the streets are marked and without gps directions are unclear. We came to visit the national park but because of the government shutdown the visitor center was closed. The drive up the coast is beautiful and we found the people there very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is a hit or miss one morning it was great and one morning it was sparse.
