“Lovely rooms, shame they charge to use the swimming pool”

Service is very good at this hotel, everyone is friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade to a larger room, which was nice. Service is very good at this hotel, everyone is friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade to a larger room, which was nice. We also ate at the restaurant on 1 of the nights we stayed here, as they had fondue, it was a set menu, which came with a salad as a starter, the fondue, dessert and a glass of wine for 30 euros per person (min 2 people), good value for money. My only negative is that they charge to use their swimming pool 15 euros per person for an hour with Spa included and 24 euros for 2hrs.

This hotel is a very safe selection. I really have nothing negative to say although we did not partake of the spa. The location is great and the staff are warm and welcoming. The hallways are a bit difficult to navigate and while that may annoy some, our group found it a charming challenge that added to the trip! The room didn’t wow us and the upside down photo on the wall could cause some to question their attention to detail but again, I can not find a negative thing to say. While much was “average”, the food was above and beyond what one would expect from a hotel at this price point. An unexpected surprise that in of itself would have me stay here again. We had a lovely dinner and the breakfast buffet went far beyond my expectations. I confess that I ate more than usual because there were simply too many amazing options…

I did book a parking space in advance and when we arrived they told us our car is to big for their garage! So we did put our car on the other side of the road in a public garage. We had a nice room with balcony but what we really do not like and which is really old fashion is there is carpet on the floor. The only thing we really liked is the breakfast they have lots of very good food.

The hotel is centrally located. I made my reservation in American Express Travel and based my choice on a recommendation and the photos in the site. When I arrived, even though I did not pay for the basic room, I was told I had chosen a room in the "not renovated part of the hotel" The beginning of my disappointment. The room was not only old, but the carpet was disgusting. The bathroom was not that bad but old. The bed was supposed to be queen size, but it turned out to be two twin beds put together with the "fronter" in the middle. I went to catch some diner and man, was it bad! The lamb chops were only bone and fat! and the "grilled vegetables" was more like a can of soft mushy vegies. The service in the restaurant was bad and in the end I had to ask to please take care of me as I wanted to end the experience and go to my room. I think the place is old and needs to take advantage of such a great location.

A mixed bag, AC works poorly (lucky for the thunderstorm, could open the window), the hotel is a bit outdated, the restaurant opens at 8 (ok, it’s Spanish style, but still), the thing that bothered me most (this was not indicated on Hotels.com), the pool opens late and is 24 euros/9 for a child. Plus children can only get in for an hour. For people without kids who want a spa, probably great. For people with children: probably there are better options. On the plus side: bed was excellent, bathroom fantastic (big bath & walk in shower), the staff was very professional and friendly. So 3/5 for people with kids (like me), probably 4/5 for people without. In fairness, got a decent rate.
