“Great Stay and Amazing Views”

I stayed 3 nights and had a lake view room, which was totally worth the additional charge. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and the common areas were nicely decorated and inviting. The staff was so friendly and helpful - a special thank you to Eugenia and Abel, both of whom went out of their way to make my stay even more enjoyable.

Overall this is a well positioned and designed hotel. The lounge area is very comfortable with breathtaking views across the lake. The nearby waterfall is beautiful. We didn’t use the pool but nice to have access to such facilities. The restaurant is of an excellent standard, the waiter was very helpful and professional. The food is creative with an excellent choice of wine in The Wine Room. Most of the staff were helpful but overall communication was poor. The day after we arrived there was a big wedding on the terrace. Nobody told us about this when we checked in. As it impacted on access to areas in the hotel we would have liked to have known but we had to ask for details when we discovered this from other guests. The following day there was a food and wine tasting event which we were not told about. We would have attended but ate elsewhere earlier in the day and only told at 8pm as we ordered a bottle of wine! Attention to detail is lacking - outside table and chairs on our terrace we had to clean ourselves! Outside furniture is not regularly cleaned.- this does detract from the beauty of the hotel. The breakfast is a good selection but the tables are not cleared promptly so you have to do this yourself. Overall a manager with an eye to detail would see these things and recognise they need tackling. Personally I’d remove the promotional roller blinds in the lounge as they are incongruous and have no place in such a beautiful space. We really liked the hotel and enjoyed our stay, but with a bit of effort a great hotel could be a stunning hotel and with better communication guests may feel more welcome. I have read that they are often booked up so maybe the hotel group (DOM) don’t feel the attention to detail is necessary.
